Most exposure to fluoride for the general population comes from drinking water, beverages and foods prepared from drinking water, and dental products. Fluorides can also be present to a lesser extent in the atmosphere and soil. An allocation factor is a number that represents the proportion of total exposure to fluoride that can be attributed to drinking water for the most sensitive subpopulation. It is used to inform the calculation of the health-based value, which is the numerical value at which health effects could be observed. 1, record 1, English, - allocation%20factor

Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters : scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates... Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. It appears as an additive term on the gyro output, so any actual drift away from a given or predetermined value will cause the angular errors to accumulate. 3, record 6, English, - gyro%20drift

The free gyro ... can be converted to a directional reference by remounting its case with the spin axis horizontal and the indicator axis vertical. The minimum sample size is estimated using a formula taking into account different factors. One of these factors is the variability that is accepted to be caused by the differences between individual particles. When a large amount of variability is chosen for this factor, there will no longer be a "negligible effect" as mentioned in the definition.

In evaluating the performance of an antenna as a radiating system one considers only the field at a large distance, where the induction field can be neglected. The antenna is then treated as an effective point source, radiating power that, per unit solid angle, is a function of direction only. The directive properties of an antenna are most conveniently expressed in terms of the "gain function"... The gain function is defined as the ratio of the power radiated in a given direction per unit solid angle to the average power radiated per unit solid angle... The maximum value of the gain function is called the "gain"... The gain of an antenna is the greatest factor by which the power transmitted in a given direction can be increased by using that antenna instead of an isotropic radiator. 2, record 23, English, - gain%20function

The concept of a dynamic amplification factor (DAF) is used to describe the ratio between the maximum load effect when a bridge is loaded dynamically, and the maximum load effect when the same load is applied statically to the bridge. 2, record 26, English, - dynamic%20amplification%20factor

The dynamic amplification factor(DAF) is an important parameter in the design of highway bridges and yet no worldwide consensus has been reached so far as to its value. Some disagreement exists between provisions of various national bridge codes. This is because the DAF depends, in addition to the maximum span or the natural frequency, on many other parameters that are difficult to take into account with reasonable accuracy. Vehicle speed, weight, and dynamic characteristics, the state of the structure, roadway roughness, expansion joints, the type of bridge supports, soil-structure interaction, and influence of secondary elements are some aspects influencing the DAF. This study reviews the analytical and experimental findings on bridge dynamics and the evaluation of the DAF. 3, record 26, English, - dynamic%20amplification%20factor

It can keep and use separate databases for separate vehicles, tracks, or classes. Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters : scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates. This value is used to convert the voltage output from the gyro into an angular rate. System imperfections can cause small variations in the scale factor. These variations appear as a factor at the output of the gyro. Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. 3, record 36, English, - angular%20velocity

Angular velocity is the time rate of change of angular displacement. More simply it is a measure of how fast an object is rotating. For example, the measure of a skater’s spinning speed during a sit spin is called angular velocity. Angular velocity is calculated by subtracting the initial angular position from the final angular position and dividing by the time it took to get from the initial to final position. Angular velocity is measured in radians/second (SI units) or degrees/second or revolutions/second (English units). 4, record 36, English, - angular%20velocity

It appears as an additive term on the gyro output, so any actual drift away from a given or predetermined value will cause the angular errors to accumulate. 2, record 37, English, - angular%20error

Un gyroscope (mesureur d'angle) utilise fondamentalement la propriété caractéristique d'inertialité (fixité dans l'espace absolu), totale ou partielle, de certains phénomènes physiques. An exact analysis of the bifurcation points in the Verhulst process reveals a law of basic importance for nonlinear phenomena. This concerns the lengths of the parameter intervals in which a particular period is stable. The intervals are shortened at each period doubling by a factor which approaches a universal value as the period increases. This number is now called the "Feigenbaum number". 6, record 51, English, - branch%20point

Given the factors of degree days, conductance and air change, it is possible to estimate the winter heat loss for a building. The U value per unit area of the enclosure component, multiplied by the area of each component, multiplied by the area of each component and then summed for all components becomes the total building conductance factor. When the total loss through air change is added, the resulting figure is the complete building heat loss factor(b). 1, record 67, English, - complete%20heat%20loss%20factor
