A magnetoresistance device is proposed in [both a] magnetically and electrically modulated two-dimensional electron gas, which can be realized experimentally by the deposition, on the top and bottom of a semiconductor heterostructure, of two parallel metallic ferromagnetic strips under an applied voltage. It is shown that a considerable magnetoresistance effect can be achieved in such a device due to the significant transmission difference for electrons through parallel and antiparallel magnetization configurations. 1, record 1, English, - magnetoresistance%20device

[In this system] conventional(nonsuperconducting) iron-core electromagnets carried by the vehicle are attracted upward toward ferromagnetic components attached to the underside of the guideway structure. This type of magnetic suspension is inherently unstable and needs precise control to maintain a clearance of about l. 5 centimeters between the vehicle's magnets and the guideway. One advantage, however, is that the vehicle remains levitated even when motionless and thus could be used for urban and commuter transit as well as for longer, high-speed routes. 2, record 38, English, - attraction%2Dmode%20electromagnetic%20maglev

Each wire in the badge can be assigned a logic "0" or "1" by placing it in the proper position relative to the resetting magnets and sensing coils in the card reader. This type of badge is impervious to accidental erasure and it is difficult to alter or duplicate.(Protection of Assets Manual, volume 1, section 8-27.)
