Non-self-propelled portable floor cranes are in general use in machine shops, plant assembly departments, outdoor yard service, and warehouses, at transportation terminals, and in garages. They are frequently employed in shipping and receiving departments for unloading incoming raw materials, large and heavy cases, lumber, etc., and loading outgoing shipments. They are likewise employed to supplement overhead traveling cranes and other power-operated equipment. In many small manufacturing plants, they are-aside from hoists and other local service equipment-the only kinds of materials handling equipment in use.

The cantilever-jib or gooseneck type of crane is the commonest and most convenient type of portable floor crane, and is used in many shops to supplement an overhead monorail system or a traveling crane in reaching locations that cannot be served by the regular overhead equipment. It is also used in railroad freight houses and terminals where overhead systems are not available.

A direct vent fireplace installation assembly is provided that includes a furniture unit having an enlarged receptacle well above the ground, and a direct vent fireplace unit positioned in the receptacle of the furniture unit. The fireplace unit ahs a firebox contained in an outer housing, a burner assembly in the firebox, and a contoured surround, surrounding the burner positioned in and spaced apart from walls of the firebox. A chimney is coupled to the firebox. In one embodiement, the fireplace unit is mounted in a receptacle in a wall structure positioned above the floor, at approximately eye level. There may be a heat exchange passageway between the outer housing and the firebox, and a blower for circulating air therethrough.

An ESD [electrostatic discharge] event can occur when any charged conductor(including the human body) discharges to an ESDS(electrostatic discharge sensitive) device. The most common cause of electrostatic damage is the direct transfer of electrostatic charge from the human body or a charged material to the electrostatic discharge sensitive(ESDS) device. When one walks across a floor, an electrostatic charge accumulates on the body. Simple contact of a finger to the leads of an ESDS device or assembly allows the body to discharge, possibly causing device damage.... The transfer of charge from an ESDS device is also an ESD event. Static charge may accumulate on the ESDS device itself through handling or contact with packaging materials, worksurfaces, or machine surfaces.

Oil furnaces. Indoor oil furnaces... are available in upflow, downflow, horizontal and low-boy configurations for ducted systems. They are also available as floor furnaces, wall furnaces, and free standing space heaters. Oil-fired outdoor furnaces and combination units are rare.... The ducted system, oil-fired, forced air furnaces are usually equipped with pressure-atomizing burners. The pump pressure and the orifice size of the injection nozzle regulate the firing rate of the furnace. Electric ignition is used to ignite the burners.... The combustion chamber and heat exchanger of oil-fired furnaces are normally formed as a common single chamber. It is formed from heavy gage steel into a welded assembly. The hot flue products flow through the inside of the heat exchanger into the chimney. The conditioned air flows over the outside of the heat exchanger and into the air supply plenum.
