The body weight squat is perhaps the best lower body exercise a person can do. It basically works all the major muscle groups of the thighs, glutes and hamstrings.... Position your feet slightly wider then hip-width apart with your toes slightly turned out. Hold your hands out in front of you at shoulder height. This will counterbalance your weight and help you keep your balance. Slowly and under control, bend your knees and lower yourself down as far as you can without lifting your heels off the floor and then, after a brief pause at the bottom, push your weight back up until you are back at the starting position.

The participants hang their feet over the pole using their instep to do so. FAR(floor area ratio) : the gross floor area of the building to the area of the lot on which it's built. Each zoning district classification contains an FAR limit. A building can contain floor area equal to the lot area multiplied by the floor area ratio(FAR) of the district in which the lot is located. In a zone where the permitted FAR is a maximum of 1. 0, a 40, 000 sq foot lot(approximately an acre) could have 40, 000 sq ft building. Staying within the Far limit, a developer might build a 4-story building at 10, 000 sq ft per floor, or a 2-story building at 20, 000 sq ft per floor. Height rules permitting, it could also be a 10-story building at 4, 000 sq feet per floor. If the FAR is 4. 0(the greatest FAR currently permitted in Cambridge), the same lot could have a 160, 000 sq ft building. Parking areas, cellar space, floor space in open balconies, elevator or stair-bulkheads, and other non-habitable space within the building do count as part of the FAR.

In France, the central government sets a national Floor Area Ratio limit of 1, and 1.5 in the Paris region (the Plafond Légal de Densité). Regardless of what density is permitted in a local POS or ZAC, developers who wish to build above the nationally permitted FAR must purchase the rights to do so from the municipality. This system is technically a form of betterment recoupment, since it applies to land whose value has been raised primarily because of planning and zoning allowances.

NDHQ 97 is the largest accommodation project ever undertaken by the Department of National Defence or the government. It's more than just moving people from building to building. It's refitting buildings and general office space, using a new design concept called the universal footprint. It's adapting accommodation to re-engineered organizations. It's also purchasing and installing furniture best suited to a modern, dynamic organization. The headquarters will have a new look. In the four buildings... corridors will run along the windows. Offices will be clustered at the centre of each floor. Major traffic will flow outside work areas, not through them. People working in teams will have work areas designed for teams. Offices will have more natural light, better air conditioning and better ventilation. Some screens will have glazed windows to allow natural light to spill through. Each workstation will include large, well-lit work surfaces for computers and overall, will have more usable workspace. Plenty of storage space will be located above and below work surfaces. But employees will be encouraged to make the most of their space by storing information on diskette, rather than in filing cabinets. The look will be cleaner and less cluttered. And whether people are tall or short, they’ll be able to adjust their desks, chairs and computers to the height that's right for them.

QGDN 97 est le plus gros projet d'aménagement de locaux entrepris par le ministère de la Défense nationale ou le gouvernement. Il ne s'agit pas seulement de déménager des gens d'un édifice à un autre, mais plutôt de réorganiser les édifices et l'espace disponible en appliquant un nouveau concept d'aménagement appelé plan universel, d'adapter les locaux à des organisations restructurées, d'acheter et d'installer de l'ameublement qui convient mieux à une organisation moderne et dynamique. Le quartier général aura une nouvelle allure. Dans les quatre édifices [...] les couloirs vont longer les fenêtres, et les bureaux seront regroupés au centre de chaque étage. Le gros de la circulation se fera à l'extérieur des aires de travail, et non à travers celles-ci. Les gens qui travaillent en équipe auront des locaux conçus spécialement pour les équipes. Il y aura davantage de lumière naturelle dans les bureaux, et la climatisation ainsi que la ventilation seront meilleures. Certaines cloisons auront des fenêtres vitrées pour permettre la diffusion de la lumière naturelle. Chaque poste de travail comprendra de grandes surfaces bien éclairées pour les ordinateurs et offriront, dans l'ensemble, un plus grand espace utilisable. Il y aura en outre beaucoup de rangement au-dessus et au-dessous des surfaces de travail. Les employés seront toutefois encouragés à maximiser leur espace en emmagasinant l'information sur disquette plutôt que dans des classeurs. Les locaux auront ainsi l'air plus propres et plus dégagés. Peu importe la taille des occupants, les bureaux, les chaises, et les ordinateurs pourront être réglés à la bonne hauteur.
