Of a special type is the two-wheeled maneuvering unit or lift jack used in connection with semilive skids. These skids are supported by wheels or casters at one end and metal legs at the other. The lift-jack unit slips under the dead end of the skid and the leverage attained raises the load off the floor when the handle is moved from a vertical to a near-horizontal or pulling position. 1, record 2, English, - lift%20jack

A longwall cutter-loader of the plough type, with two cutting blades, one at each end, operated by a hydraulic cylinder which can give a powerful thrust(about 42 tons) to the blades and cause them to bite into the coal. While this thrust is being exerted, the machine is anchored by means of a vertical jack which engages the roof and floor. The jack is built on sliding bars and the machine is moved by sliding the jack along the bars to the next position for anchoring the machine. It travels alongside the conveyor but is not connected to it. A loading ramp guides the cut coal on to the conveyor. The machine is employed in seams from 4 to 5 ft thick with a strong roof and floor. 2, record 4, English, - Samson%20stripper

1, record 4, French, - rabot%20automoteur%20Samson

Recoton develops breakthrough technology which transmits stereo sound through walls, ceilings and floor up to 150 feet. In June 1989, the Federal Communications Commission allocated a band of frequencies stretching from 902 to 928 MHz for wireless, in-home product applications. Recoton, a leading wireless speaker manufacturer, took advantage of the FCC ruling by creating a new speaker system that utilizes this frequency band to transmit clearer, stronger stereo signals throughout your home. You will be able to listen to your stereo, TV, VCR or CD player in any room of your home without having to run miles of speaker wire. The powerful transmitter plugs into a headphone, audio-out or tape-out jack on your stereo or TV component transmitting music wirelessly to your speakers or headphones. One transmitter, unlimited viewers.(En Route, Air-Canada in-flight magazine, June 1994, p. 24). 2, record 5, English, - wireless%20speaker
