A Green New Deal provides a pathway for addressing the greatest crisis of our time, climate change, while also ensuring greater equality and a reduction in poverty through massive public investment in clean energy and good jobs.

While earlier versions of the Green New Deal focused on technological interventions and public investments in clean energy, today's proposals are more transformational and focus on environmental and social justice. They call for investments in technology and infrastructure, but also highlight the structural inequality that is endemic in the current economic system and seek to address it.
