The Dental Division of the Primary Health Care and Public Health Directorate(PHCPHD) strives to improve, and ultimately to maintain, the oral health of the First Nations and Inuit at a level comparable to other Canadians. The Dental Division's efforts include the delivery and/or management of a broad range of oral health activities including proactive disease prevention, oral health promotion and dental treatment services provided by regional dental therapists and other First Nations and Inuit Health Branch(FNIHB) staff, as well as the staff of many First Nations. The key focus areas for the Dental Division are : Supporting the regional delivery of the dental therapy program; Managing the contract for the delivery of the National School of Dental Therapy(NSDT) training program by the First Nations University of Canada. Currently, 106 dental therapists from NSDT work either directly for First Nations and Inuit Health Branch(FNIHB) or directly for First Nations or territorial governments in the Regions and Territories and serve approximately 170 First Nations and Inuit communities. They are the key providers for FNIHB oral health initiatives. In addition to the services provided by dental therapists, Health Canada also pays for dental practitioner services for specified clinical services in First Nations and Inuit communities. ... a spectroscope or spectrograph... are effectively the same thing except that a spectroscope is simply used for visual inspection(that is, your eye is the detector), while a spectrograph includes some means(photographic film or an electronic detector) for recording the spectrum for analysis. In professional astronomy these days there is very little need for a spectroscope... a spectrograph in its simplest form,... is a light-tight box with a small(often narrow rectangular or adjustable) opening to let light in, a grating to break the light into its components, and a "detector" of some kind placed at the proper angle and distance from the grating to record the spectrum of the wavelength range of interest. Telescopes are used to gather the faint light from distant objects, and the spectrographs are placed at the focus of the telescope to analyze the light.

Our project investigates using refractive lenses to focus soft x-rays in the few kiloelectronvolt to few tens of kiloelectronvolt energy range. Because the x-ray refraction effect is quite weak in a single lens, a series of elements — a compound refractive lens(CRL) — focuses soft x-rays over practical focal lengths, typically 1 m to 2 m.

In 1999, RBC(Royal Bank of Canada) convened an Advisory Panel of education experts from across Canada to help focus RBC' s funding on programs that help keep kids in school. En 1999, RBC (Banque Royale du Canada) a mis sur pied un comité consultatif regroupant des spécialistes de l'éducation de tout le Canada dont le mandat est de l'aider à mettre son aide financière au service de programmes de luttes contre le décrochage scolaire. Il en est ressorti que les programmes d'activités parascolaires sont un des secteurs où RBC peut jouer un rôle déterminant à l'échelle de la collectivité. Les programmes bénéficiant d'une subvention de RBC offrent un éventail d'activités structurées et encadrées qui mettent en valeur les aptitudes sociales et l'estime personnelle.

The Rocket Assembly/Checkout Facility... The facility consists of six contiguous laboratory modules subdivided into a storage area, a gray room area, and a clean room. The storage area houses spare instrument components and intermittently used ground support equipment. The gray room area contains facilities to clean components before they enter the clean room and equipment used to ship the instrument to WSMR [White Sands Mission Range]. The Class 100 cross-flow clean room is separated from the gray room by an air shower. The clean room contains three major stations : a clean bench for assembly of subsystems; a 12x14-ft optical bench for instrument assembly and electronic test of the instrument subsystems; and a vacuum chamber for vacuum focus and spectroradiometric calibration. The cryogenically pumped vacuum chamber is designed with a 30-cm diameter ultraviolet collimator at one end and a roll-off section that accommodates the entire flight instrument centered in the collimated beam at the other end.
