The Forest Insect and Disease Survey(FIDS) program has been merged with the Long Range Transport of Air Pollutants Program to form a nationally focused Forest Health Network. This Network has a forest health monitoring component that will assess and report on the condition and changes in the health of Canada's forests. The Forest Health Monitoring group will monitor forest health plots, map major forest disturbances, and support the Plant Protection Division of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Plant Quarantine Act.
