The motorized scooter board is a mobility device designed for the young handicapped child. This is a motorized 2" x 4" "padded mat on wheels" that stands approximately 4" off the ground. Activation of a remote switch causes the scooter board to move.... The motorized scooter board is powered by a sealed rechargeable gel-cel 12-volt battery and a small DC motor that moves the prone board at a slow pace.... On the front of the scooter board is a "shelf" for use as a foot or hand rest.

A sideward locomotor movement in an uneven rhythm. Consists of a step and close with the transfer of weight taking place in the air as the feet are brought together; same side leads in a series of slides.

Slide no. 3 : Take several running steps. During the last running step, push off from the ball of the foot and step lightly onto the advancing foot. Keep the weight held very high in the torso so that the advancing foot is permitted to progress by slipping and sliding on the floor. After the slide has begun, the other foot may also rest lightly on the floor for balance and slip along with the advancing foot.

On the beach the top of the wave breaks and mingles with the foot of the wave, both dashing forward with a force driven by the energy from the height and speed of the collapsing wave. The resulting rush of water is fast and strong and moves sand effortlessly up the beach. The water then comes to a rest as the sand particles settle out. The water then begins flowing back down the beach, first slowly and then faster until it dislodges cohesive sand grains. But the forcing power is much less than that of the on-rushing waves. The particles that settled at the top of the forward rush, stay because of the hysteresis(lagging behind) between erosion speed and settling speed...

The speed of light in a vacuum is an important physical constant denoted by the letter c for "constant" or the Latin word "celeritas" meaning "swiftness". It is the speed of all electromagnetic radiations, including visible light, in a vacuum. More generally, it is the speed of anything having zero rest mass.... In metric units, the speed of light is exactly 299, 792, 458 metres per second(1, 079, 252, 848. 8 km/h). The fundamental SI unit of length, the metre, has been defined since October 21, 1983, as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299, 792, 458 of a second; any increase in the precision of the measurement of the speed of light would refine the definition of the metre, but not alter the numerical value of c. The approximate value of 3x108 m/s is commonly used in rough estimates. In imperial units, the speed of light is about 670, 616, 629. 2 miles per hour or 983, 571, 056 feet per second, which is about 186, 282, 397 miles per second, or roughly one foot per nanosecond. The speed of light when it passes through a transparent or translucent material medium, like glass or air, is slower than its speed in a vacuum. The ratio of c to the observed phase velocity is called the refractive index of the medium.

These holes form a slot roughly 4 by 2 inches to which the easers can break. All the holes in the round are parallel and in-line with the tunnel. Short-delay detonators are used for the easer holes and 1/2-second delays for the rest of the round. A pull of 10 feet per round has been obtained in strong rock with 10-foot 6-inch holes.
