A sheeted dyke complex is a normal component of an ophiolite, a piece of oceanic crust that has been emplaced within a sequence of continental rocks. The dykes act as feeders for the overlying sequence of extrusive rocks typically pillow lavas, together forming layer 2 of the oceanic crust. As each injection of a dyke represents one increment of seafloor spreading, each dyke is normally intruded into earlier dykes. The dykes are typically dolerites but plagiogranites (trondhjemites) often form a significant part of the complex. 4, record 9, English, - sheeted%20dyke%20complex

In the sheeted dike complex, each dike intrudes older dikes, and the very first dikes formed may be on opposite sides of an ocean. The sheeted dike complex is the smoking gun of an ophiolite. Fault bend folds form when layers move from flat to ramp or vice versa. Because layers must conform to changing fault geometry, a fold forms. 4, record 10, English, - ramp%20fold
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 1 OBS
A fault-bend fold geometry can be superposed on the fold if the anticline is displaced over a ramp. These folds differ from the popular fault-propagation fold models in that folding is above a flat, non-propagating fault, fold-growth is by limb-rotation about a fixed hinge, and deformation in the footwall generally is reflected by a footwall syncline. 5, record 10, English, - ramp%20fold

At the base of the norite there is a discontinuous zone of inclusion-and sulphide-rich norite intrusions known as sublayer. In the so-called offsets(steep to vertical dykes which appear to penetrate downwards into the footwall from the base of the main norite), the inclusion-rich, sulphide-bearing rock is as quartz-diorite.
