... channeling is a problem specific to pool sand filters. When the sand(or crushed glass) media captures enough material that changes its physical properties, [the] sand's ability to screen particles out of water is reduced. It creates uneven pressure spots where water is trying to force its way through the media. Eventually, these uneven pressure spots in the filter can form an opening, called a channel. When the channel opens up enough, unfiltered water can flow through it and bypass the majority of the sand.... Cloudy pool water is almost inevitable at that point.

One of three kinds of rim or caliper brakes whose action originates from the side of the wheel(usually the left side), using one pivot point for two caliper arms. They are activated by means of a sheathed brake cable connected at one end to the brake lever mounted on the handlebar and at the other end to one of the caliper arms. When the hand lever is squeezed the cable retracts within its sheath, pulling the right caliper toward the rim and exerting an equal and opposite force on the cable sheath which, pressing downward, forces the left caliper toward the wheel rim, in such a way as to press rubber blocks against the rim simultaneously, stopping the bicycle through pressure and friction.

Pumping the accelerator pedal before or during cranking will not aid in starting. The system has no accelerator pump system to force fuel into the air passing through the carburetor on its way to the combustion chambers, as does the gasoline-engine fuel system.
