On-site generation is the production of electricity or other forms of energy at the point of consumption. There are several technologies which can facilitate it, including solar panels, wind turbines, biomass generators and fuel cells. Many organisations look to on-site generation from renewable energy to move away from fossil fuels as part of an emission reduction strategy... 3, record 1, English, - on%2Dsite%20generation

Metals(inorganic micropollutants) are natural components of aquatic systems and some of them are essential for life. However, human need for energy(e. g., burning of fossil fuels) and minerals(e. g., smelting of metallic ores) provoke an increase in the concentrations of essential metals, but also of toxic ones such as cadmium, mercury or lead. 1, record 11, English, - inorganic%20micropollutant

2, record 11, Spanish, - microcontaminante%20inorg%C3%A1nico

The cost of climate change policies can be minimized through "no regrets" strategies. Such strategies make economic and environmental sense whether or not the world is moving towards rapid climate change. They can involve removing market imperfections(such as counter-productive fossil fuel subsidies), creating supplementary benefits(greater industrial competitiveness through energy efficiency), and generating "double dividends"(when revenus from taxes or other climate change instruments are used to finance reductions in existing distortionary taxes). 2, record 34, English, - no%20regrets%20strategy

A non profit organization created in 1994, has as its mission implementing the National Earth Comfort Program. The National Earth Comfort Program is a collaborative effort between the US Department of Energy, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and private sector organizations interested in promoting the growth of energy-efficient, environmentally friendly heating and cooling technology. The GHPC' s specific area of interest is in increasing the use of GeoExchange technology for both commercial and residential heating and cooling. GeoExchange systems use the earth's renewable energy to provide heating in winter, and cooling in summer, with energy consomption 25% to 50% less than traditional oil, natural gas, and electric heat pump systems. Moreover because GeoExchange systems burn no fossil fuels in creating heat, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions substantially, and eliminate a source of carbon monoxide inside the homes and commercial buildings where they’re used. 1, record 41, English, - Geothermal%20Heat%20Pump%20Consortium

The recoverable fossil fuel reserves are so large(c. 4000 Gt) that they present no constraint to the future buildup of atmospheric CO2 concentration. Future emissions of CO2 will depend on how global energy demand changes, about 80% of which is met by fossil fuel burning, and the role fossil fuels play in the future energy supply. These are the primary uncertainties in future emissions of CO2. 2, record 48, English, - future%20emission

Low energy gas(LEG) is produced by air gasification processes where a portion of the input wood(about 20 percent) is combusted with air to provide process heat. LEG can be used to displace fossil fuels by retrofitting oil or gas-fired boilers, kilns, dryers and space heaters. In addition, it can be cooled and cleaned for use in internal combustion engines to generate shaft power or electricity. Due to the low energy content, economics dictate that the gas be used immediately and not piped great distances. 1, record 51, English, - low%20energy%20gas
