Oxyfuel combustion. An alternative is to burn the fossil fuel in pure or enriched oxygen. In such a fashion the flue gas will contain mostly CO2 and H2O. A part of the flue gas needs to be recycled into the combustion chamber in order to control the flame temperature. From the non-recycled flue gas, water vapor can be readily condensed, and the CO2 can be compressed and piped directly to the storage site. 3, record 27, English, - oxyfuel%20combustion

The recoverable fossil fuel reserves are so large(c. 4000 Gt) that they present no constraint to the future buildup of atmospheric CO2 concentration. Future emissions of CO2 will depend on how global energy demand changes, about 80% of which is met by fossil fuel burning, and the role fossil fuels play in the future energy supply. Figure 5 shows estimates of global energy flux density for 1970(Llewellyn and Washington, 1977). Areas of high energy flux density correlate reasonably well with areas of heavy industrialization, fossil fuel combustion, and thus, acid deposition. 1, record 64, English, - global%20energy%20flux%20density

In the closed-cycle gas turbine, essentially all the working medium(except for seal leakage, bleed loss, and any addition or extraction of working medium for control purposes) is continuously recycled. Heat from a source such as fossil fuel(or possibly, nuclear reaction) is transferred through the walls of a closed heater to the cycle. The closed cycle can be charged with gases other than air, such as helium, carbon dioxide or nitrogen. 1, record 65, English, - closed%2Dcycle%20gas%20turbine

The water cooled cyclonic burner fired with crushed coal on oil may be adapted to firing hog [fuel] in combination with fossil fuels. The all refractory cyclonic burner limited to firing dry pulverized wood waste has been wed as the heat source for dry kilns and rotary dryers but has yet to be demonstrated firing directly into a boiler. 1, record 66, English, - cyclonic%20burner
