Ecovillagers are united by shared ecological, social-economic and cultural-spiritual values.... Concretely, ecovillagers seek alternatives to ecologically destructive electrical, water, transportation, and waste-treatment systems, as well as the larger social systems that mirror and support them. Many see the breakdown of traditional forms of community, wasteful consumerist lifestyles, the destruction of natural habitat, urban sprawl, factory farming, and over-reliance on fossil fuels as trends that must be changed to avert ecological disaster and create richer and more fulfilling ways of life. 1, record 2, English, - ecovillager

Oxyfuel combustion. An alternative is to burn the fossil fuel in pure or enriched oxygen. In such a fashion the flue gas will contain mostly CO2 and H2O. A part of the flue gas needs to be recycled into the combustion chamber in order to control the flame temperature. From the non-recycled flue gas, water vapor can be readily condensed, and the CO2 can be compressed and piped directly to the storage site. 3, record 9, English, - oxyfuel%20combustion

The water it receives comes from snowpack from nearby mountains that melted anywhere from 8,000 to 12,000 years ago. It takes that long to filter into the aquifers and back out onto the wetlands. It’s called "fossilized water." 1, record 13, English, - fossilized%20water

It is interesting that we start this discussion with some speculation about artesian bores that could be 30 000 years old or one million years old. General Reconstruction of Watermasses and Paleoprovincialism.-The global spatial differentiation of dinocyst assemblages(i. e., provincialism) depends on the physiochemical characteristics of the water masses in which the thecal stage developed, and on surface water circulation patterns. Dinocyst provincialism in the fossil record, first recognized in Mesozoic sediments... can be used to trace the direction, origin and intensity of surface currents in the past. For instance, assemblages in a given region that are under the influence of equatorially derived surface currents will become strongly altered if subjected to the influence of a current from high latitudes. 3, record 16, English, - paleoprovincialism

Molds are made when organisms are totally or partially buried in mud that hardens into rocks. Over time ground water may dissolve the organisms, leaving cavities shaped like their bodies.... If a mold was later filled with mud or mineral material, the hardened filling is called a cast. It is a reproduction that has the same outer shape as the organism. A cast looks like the organism itself, not like its imprint. Paleontologists make casts of fossil molds by filling them with liquids, such as plaster, that harden. 3, record 17, English, - fossil%20cast

Fournaise : Ce terme est considéré comme impropre par les puristes. In the Sahara a rock stratum called the Continental Intercalary, which dates to the Cretaceous Period and which includes Nubian Sandstones, is the most important water-bearing layer. It extends over very large areas and reaches a thickness of more than 3, 000 feet; in Egypt and Algeria it provides artesian water. In The Sudan it sometimes lies directly on the Precambrian rock and contains underground water layers of local importance. Overlaying the Continental Intercalary but generally separated from it by a thick marine deposit is a layer called the Continental Terminal, which is the second-largest aquifer in this area. Both these layers contain "fossil" water _ that is to say, water that entered the layers when rainfall in and around the Sahara was much more abundant than today. Near the surface, aquifers are found in such recent deposits as alluvial deposits and sand dunes. 1, record 21, English, - Continental%20Terminal
