The entries (more than 100) are reduced to 14 teams by a series of regional play-offs; along with the defending champions and the host country, they make up the final 16. A coon foot is sometimes presented as being simply a broken forward digit axis, and sometimes, while still a broken forward axis, as a digit with a pastern at a very low angle, parallel or nearly parallel to the ground. Canada's Walk of Fame, Toronto, Ontario is a walk of fame that acknowledges the achievements and accomplishments of successful Canadians. It consists of a series of stars imbedded in 13 designated blocks worth of sidewalks in Toronto, located in front of Roy Thomson Hall, The Princess of Wales Theatre, and The Royal Alexandra Theatre on King Street as well as Simcoe Street. The first group of members was inducted in 1998, and it has since expanded to include a young filmakers competition and there are plans for a permanent museum. There are 113 Canadians on the walk of fame, including athletes; coaches; actors, directors, writers and producers of movies, television and stage; singers, songwriters and musicians; playwrights; authors; comedians; cartoonists and supermodels. The Walk of Fame was first conceived back in 1996 when founder and current president Peter Soumalias suggested the idea of a Walk of Fame for famous Torontonians to the board of the Toronto Entertainment District Association. They rejected his idea but he went on to establish a Walk of Fame for Canadians in partnership with Bill Ballard, Dusty Cohl and Gary Slaight. In spite of a lack of funds, research and no media plan, they managed to succeed and the first class of inductees was inducted in 1998. 3, record 20, English, - Canada%26rsquo%3Bs%20Walk%20of%20Fame

The Pentecostal Church began in 1901 at a Bethel Bible College in Topeka, Kansas, when preacher Charles Fox Parham decided to take a new approach to religion. He felt that the Church needed revival through the Holy Spirit... Through evangelism and Parham's use of faith healing, the number of Pentecostals increased over the years to become one of the largest Protestant denominations in the world. Pentecostal congregation sin Canada are affiliated with one of two international organizations, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada or the United Pentecostal Church International... Pentecostal theology is derived from earlier British perfectionist and charismatic movements, including the Methodist movement, the Catholic Apostolic movement and Britain's Keswick Higher Life movement. Pentecostal doctrine was particularly influenced by John Wesley, the founder of Methodism who developed the doctorine of the second blessing, or baptism in which the Holy Spirit brings spiritual power and inner cleansing to the recipient. In Pentecostal belief, baptism in the Holy Spirit is evident when a person begins to speak in tongues. 1, record 38, English, - Pentecostal%20Church

1, record 38, French, - %C3%89glise%20pentec%C3%B4tiste

The origin of the circular connector can be traced to the early days of the motion picture industry, as studio lighting required a connector that could not be accidentally disengaged. This need was met in 1925 with the introduction of a receptacle and a plug with a mechanical locking ring. Called the "M"(motion picture) Series, it was developed by Robert Cannon, founder of Cannon Electric(now ITT Cannon). The "P"(Paramount Studios) Series was developed for sound cameras in the late 1920's and introduced features still in use today; die cast shells, molded pin inserts and latch locking devices. The "F"(Fox Studios) Series incorporated the familiar threaded coupling ring used on many popular connector series today. 2, record 44, English, - connector%20series

Scientific wheat breeding in Canada had its origin in 1903 when Dr. Charles Saunders(son of William Saunders, the founder of Canadian Experimental Farms) selected one head of Marquis wheat from across of the European variety, Red Fife, and a much earlier maturing, unknown variety of hard red spring wheat from Calcutta, India. 2, record 52, French, - pince%2Dfermoir

In an evaluation of 39 transgenic founder animals and 44 transgenic lines five phenotypic patterns of pigmentation were consistently observed, including albino, dark, light, mottled and himalayan. Grain founder is caused by ingestion of greater quantities of grain than can be tolerated by the horse... Signs of laminitis may occur suddenly in a horse that has been eating considerable quantities of grain as a daily ration, or the laminitis may result from accidental exposure of the horse to excessive amounts of grain, as when the horse gains access to open grain bins. 2, record 62, French, - fourbure%20suite%20%C3%A0%20une%20ingestion%20excessive%20de%20grain

(...) when the clones are formed in the early embryo [or larva of fly], what will be the second thoracic segment is already subdivided into two small groups of cells, one group destined to make the anterior region of the segment and the other destined to make the posterior region. We call the regions compartments. Each compartment is made by a set of complete clones, which we call a polyclone, that develops from a few founder cells. 1, record 73, English, - polyclone
