A reflectaphor is any creative device (including, in literature, such devices as irony, metaphor, simile, pun, paradox, synecdoche( that relies for its effect on creating in the mind of its audience an unresolvable tension between the similarities and differences of its terms. In other words, a reflectaphor excites a state of intense wondering, doubt, and uncertainty - a sense of nuance. 1, record 2, English, - reflectaphor
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
A reflectaphor... is like a fractal. Fractals... are both order and chaos. They have self-similarity at different scales, but this self-similarity is not self-sameness and is unpredictable and random. The tension between similarities and differences in reflectaphors also creates for us a sense of unpredictability and randomness in the creative work, a sense that what we’re experiencing is organic, is both familiar and unknown. 1, record 2, English, - reflectaphor

1, record 2, French, - r%C3%A9flectaphore

Scientists began to apply formalisms of chaos to research in artificial intelligence. The dynamics of systems wandering between basins of attraction appealed to those looking for a way to model symbols and memories. A physicist thinking of "ideas" as regions with fuzzy boundaries, separate yet overlapping, pulling like magnets and yet letting go, would naturally turn to the image of a phase-space with basins of attraction. Such models seem to have the right features : points of stability mixed with instability, and regions with changeable boundaries. Their fractal structure offers the kind of infinitely self-referential quality that seems so central to the mind's ability to bloom with ideas, decisions, emotions, and all other artifacts of consciousness. 7, record 3, English, - attraction%20pool

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Predictable, or tame, attractors correspond to the behavior to which a system settles down or is "attracted". A strange attractor is represented by an unpredictable trajectory where a minute difference in starting positions of two initially adjacent points leads to totally uncorrelated positions later in time or in the mathematical iteration. 3, record 4, English, - attractor
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Recursion relations are also used to construct fractal attractors characteristic of chaotic motion. As a simple example we briefly mention dynamic systems that period double on their way to chaos... However the set invariant with regard to(2. 19) is a repeller(not an attractor). It can be shown that the attractor forms approximately a non-uniform Cantor set. 4, record 4, English, - attractor

2, record 5, French, - d%C3%A9sordre
