DEF

The main reason for investigating transport properties on fractal lattices is that solution of many important equations of physics on these lattices adds to our understanding of the geometric and topological properties that are relevant to modelling the corresponding physical process.

DEF

A method for solving the Laplace equation without using an underlying lattice. Applied in simulation techniques involving aggregation of particles and fractal pattern formation. The interfacial pattern is approximated as a piecewise linear with uniform monopole sources. A given interface uniquely determines the source distribution which, in turn, uniquely determines the velocity distribution along the interface. Based on Green's function, an integro-differential equation, and on the Dirac delta function.

CONT

Investigations based on the boundary integral method demonstrate that noise is not a necessary ingredient of an algorithm producing DLA-type patterns since they can be grown using deterministic equations. This result is supported by multifractal analysis. The fractal dimension of off-lattice DLA clusters in the asymptotic limit may be approximately equal to 1. 65.

DEF

The fractal structure obtained by a growth process that starts with a single seed particle placed onto a site of a lattice. Its neighbouring sites are considered live if they may become occupied. Next, one of these live sites is chosen randomly and either filled with a particle or killed for the rest of time. The filled site becomes part of the growing cluster and its new neighbours become living sites. A cluster is grown by repeating the same procedure many times.

DEF

PHR

arbre fractal aléatoire, asymétrique, consistant, hiérarchique, lexicographique, symétrique.

PHR

Given a set S, the indicator function J(x) is classically defined as being such that J(x)=1 when x S, and J(x)=0 when X S. When S is a Cantor set, a Sierpinski lattice(gasket or carpet), a fractal net, or any one of several other classes of fractals, J(x) is inconvenient. I often find it more convenient to replace J(x) by a different function C(x), which I introduced and now propose to call coindicator.
