FRACTAL MASS [4 records]

Record 1 1994-08-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Graphics
CONT

For strictly self-similar mathematical fractals, such as the Sierpinski gasket and the Cantor dust, the mass dimension is the same as the Hausdorff dimension(and any other fractal dimension considered here). They are all given by the similarity dimension of the scaling law, defined by the initiator and the generator that generates the fractal.

DEF

CONT

Fractal homogeneity requires the mass carried by a set to be proportional to the set's Hausdorff measure.

CONT

FRACTAL HOMOGENEITY. It is convenient to describe the distribution of mass in the Cantor bar as fractally homogeneous.

DEF

CONT

For strictly self-similar mathematical fractals, such as the Sierpinski gasket and the Cantor dust, the mass dimension is the same as the Hausdorff dimension.... They are all given by the similarity dimension of the scaling law, defined by the initiator and the generator that generates the fractal. But for practical fractals, there are significant differences....
