A fusible device is normally held in place by a solder with a known melting(fusing) temperature. Under normal conditions, the device holds a spring-operated contact inside the detector in the open position... When a fire raises the ambient temperature to the fusing temperature of the device, the solder melts, allowing the spring to move the contact point. This action completes the alarm circuit which initiates an alarm signal. 1, record 5, English, - fusible%20device

1, record 5, French, - dispositif%20fusible

A frangible bulb in a detection device holds electrical contacts apart much in the way that a fusible device does. The little glass vial(frangible bulb) contains a liquid with a small air bubble. The bulb is designed to break when the liquid is heated to a predetermined temperature. When rated temperature is reached, the liquid expands and absorbs the air bubble, the bulb fractures and falls out, and the contact completes the circuit to initiate an alarm. 1, record 6, English, - frangible%20bulb

1, record 6, French, - ampoule%20cassante

A pulley elbow is a device that contains a ball bearing sheave(pulley) which guides stainless steel cable 90 degrees around the sheave. It is defined as a device used to change direction for stainless steel wire cable, which is housed in conduit and is used to connect to a cable operated manual pull station, a mechanical gas valve, and/or the fusible link detection, from the Ansul AUTOMAN Regulated Release Mechanism. It is used because bending conduit results in too much friction loss in the movement of the cable in the conduit. There are two types of pulley elbows. Part No. 415670 has socket ends with set screws for ½ in. conduit, and Part No. 423250 has compression ring ends also for ½ in. conduit. ... fire-suppression system, ... To accommodate 90-degree turns in the cable, the appellant uses corner pulleys, which serve as fittings to the conduit while allowing for free movement of the cable. Corner pulleys are composed of high-temperature aluminum and employ a grooved wheel within which the cable runs. The wheel turns freely by use of steel ball bearings. 3, record 7, English, - pulley%20elbow
