Gardeners with experience should cope with all the tasks needed to keep a garden under control – including weeding, grass cutting, strimming, pruning, planting, mulching, feeding, spraying and lawn care – and know when to do them. A top-notch gardener will be able to help you plan your garden, suggest and source plants and even mentor you, if you want to learn more. You shouldn’t expect a gardener to do the jobs that a landscaper would do, such as lay a patio, build a wall or put up a garden building. 3, record 1, English, - gardener

As we start our planning we should keep a few basic design principles in mind. We will, through careful planning, want to improve on the good, bad, and the ugly, logically to create a wonderful garden area. Most professional designers, after years of practice, will apply these principles automatically. The following is a list of a few basics. Unity : This is probably the most important area for the overall plan. A good plan will have unity in all things. This is where we look for all parts to interrelate with each other and also relate to the overall plan. 2, record 2, English, - unity

1, record 2, French, - unit%C3%A9

Areas of turf, or lawn, provide the green expanse that links all other garden plantings together. They usually consist of grasses--thousands to the square metre--kept shorn close to the ground to provide a green carpet. 3, record 3, English, - green%20carpet
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Tapis vert, meaning literally a "green carpet", was first coined in the garden at Versailles in 1680 where André Le Nôtre used a mown grass strip punctuated by urns and statues to divide the main axis, the Allée Royale. This became a template for other grand schemes, including George Washington's plan for the landscaping of independent America's new capital. The term tapis vert has come to embrace a wider meaning, encompassing any area of lawn cut in a regular shape. It is also used to describe areas mown at various heights to produce patterns and it is here that the lawn could enjoy a degree of reinvention, assisted by advances in technology-most mowers can be adjusted by the flick of a lever to give various cutting heights. In areas of a modest size, rotary mowers would be ideal for this purpose. 2, record 3, English, - green%20carpet

The project at Vreewijk... was always intended as the urban expression of Ebenezer Howard's essentially anti-urban ideology of the garden city and was intended from the first to be an extension of Rotterdam. In the first phase, based on the street plan(1913) by H. P. Berlage, Granpré Molière developed a housing typology based on the relationship between urbanism, architecture and planning. This resulted in the second phase of Vreewijk, the extension plan(1920) by Granpré Molière, Verhagen & Kok commissioned by the Eerste Rotterdamsche Tuindorp NV. A private initiative, it was nevertheless based on the belief that urbanism has not only to do with planning but also with expressing contemporary cultural and artistic ambitions, and that therefore it cannot be the result of a single person's intentions nor those of isolated parts of society, be they the state or private initiatives. 1, record 4, English, - extension%20plan
