A view is a scene observed from a given vantage point... A view must be analyzed and composed with keenly perceptive artistry to utilize even a fraction of the full dramatic potential. Like other landscape features, the view by its handling may be preserved, neutralized, modified, or accentuated... A view is a picture to be framed, an evolving panorama of many blending facets. A view is a theme... A view is a constantly changing mood conveyed by association, light, and color. A view is a limit of visual space. It transcends the boundaries of the site... A view is a backdrop. It may serve as the wall of a garden or as a mural in a room. A view is the setting for architecture.

(Heeling in) is a procedure designed to keep alive and in the best possible condition bare-root plants dug for transplanting that cannot be planted immediately. ... It is done by digging a trench or ditch of sufficient size to accommodate the roots of plants laid as closely together as practicable without breaking, or bunching the roots to the extent that soil filled in will not be in contact with them.

CONT

Water your heeling trenches thoroughly, immediately before setting your plants into this temporary home. Cut off any roots which were damaged in the moving process, and then you can set each plant into the trench, allowing a small space between each rootball. Mix moist peat moss or wood shavings with the native soil to increase the water retention capabilities of the soil. Using this mixture, work the soil in among the roots, and cover the entire root ball slightly deeper than at the depth it was previously covered. Water again, thoroughly. Be sure to water this holding area regularly, but do not feed the plants. This method should keep your plants alive for 6 months or longer, until you are ready to set them into their permanent garden home.

Where the Spirit Lives(1989) is a drama film about Aboriginal children getting taken from their tribes to attend residential schools. The setting is in Canada. Ashto-omi is a young Aboriginal girl taken by an Indian Agent, Taggert. Her younger brother Pita and other children are also lured into the airplane using candy canes. The two newcomers are forcefully renamed with names associated with Christianity. Ashto-Komi's name is changed to Amelia(no. 61) while Pita's is changed to Abraham(no. 67). Kathleen Gwillemberry is a new teacher to the school. Ashto-Komi gets stripped and scrubbed. Her hair is cut and scrubbed. Her hair is cut short. The old native style clothing is gone and gets replaced with uniforms. The children get a small amount of food to eat and are forced to do prayers every morning to become Christians. Ashto-Komi talks her language and gets beaten by the teacher. She did not know they were forbidden to talk their native language. Gwillemberry says they are poor children that don’t know any English after teaching her new class. Reverend Buckely replies and says "The children are like a garden, in order to maintain the beautiful flowers you need to pull all the weeds out and cut them back. "

A kakemono... is a Japanese scroll painting, an ink-and-brush painting that hangs in a recess in a traditional Japanese house. In a teahouse, or the room called a chashitsu, which is located in a secluded garden setting away from the main dwelling, the choice of the kakemono and its complementary flower arrangement help set the spiritual mood of the ceremony itself, in perfect harmony with the time of year.

OBS

In contrast to the Kakemono, a Makimono is a hand scroll, a painting or calligraphy which is supposed to be held in the hand.
