At the heart of the flotation process is the flotation cell, of which several designs are available. Here, air in the form of small bubbles is blended with the grey stock. The air bubbles become attached to ink and dirt particles, causing them to rise to the surface of the cell where they are removed as a dirt-laden layer of froth. Typically, 6 to 10 flotation cells in series are required for efficient ink removal depending on the level of dirt in the stock. 1, record 1, English, - Voith%20flotation%20cell

2, record 1, French, - cellule%20de%20flottation%20Voith

It is generally found that natural objects possess self-similarity and self-affinity in their structures. Fractal analysis, a technique based on these properties, has been widely used in various research applications. In the active remote sensing of the earth terrain, it is possible to extract this fractal information from the images obtained. In this application, fractal surface dimension, an important parameter in fractal analysis, can be employed as an additional feature to classify different landuse areas. This fractal surface dimension is generally related to the roughness of the surface. By keeping the x and y coordinates of the pixels of the image, and taking the grey level of each pixel as its z coordinate, a three-dimensional surface can be constructed. The calculation of fractal surface dimension can then be carried out on that surface. 2, record 3, English, - fractal%20analysis

3, record 3, French, - analyse%20fractale

The Gamma filter performs gamma map filtering. Gamma filtering is primarily used on radar data to remove high frequency noise(speckle) while preserving high frequency features(edges). The Gamma Map filter was first proposed by Kuan.... Lopes modified the Kuan Map filter by assuming a gamma distributed scene and setting up two thresholds. The gamma filter size ranges from 1 to 11. Different filter sizes will greatly affect the quality of processed images. If the filter is too small, the noise filtering algorithm is not effective. If the filter is too large, subtle details of the image will be lost in the filtering process. A 7x7 filter usually gives the best results.... The GAMMA filter performs spatial filtering on each individual pixel in an image using the grey level values in a square window surrounding each pixel. The dimensions of the filter must be odd, and can be from 3x3 to 11x11 pixels. 2, record 5, English, - gamma%20filter
