The Carthusian originated in Spain. It is also known as the Carthusian-Andalusian, and Carthujano. It is used for riding and is 15.2 h.h. [(hands high).] The Carthusian is not a separate breed from the Andalusian, but is a distinct side branch of that breed and usually considered the purest strain remaining. This is one of Spain’s most prestigious lines of the Spanish horse and has one of the oldest stud books in the world. 2, record 4, English, - Carthusian%20horse

1, record 4, French, - cheval%20Chartreux

An early method of surface aeration in the activated sludge process, devised by Dr H.H. Kessener of Holland in 1925, with rapidly rotating stainless steel brushes on a horizontal shaft. The brushes are partly submerged in the mixed liquor, swirl it around and thus aerate it. It has been superseded by the TNO rotor. 1, record 5, English, - Kessener%20brush

1, record 5, French, - brosse%20Kessener

In favour of the immobility of inclusions, one can recall the classic observations of the alignments of inclusions prolonging in the granite certain layers of the surrounding rock. Such alignments may coincide with differentiation bands in the granite of a hybrid facies, which mark the place of particular layers within the framework of the granite mass, layers which can be continuously followed throughout it. As H.H. Read (1953) says: "phantom stratigraphies within the interior of granite masses are the only proof of a granitization in place". 1, record 7, English, - phantom%20stratigraphy

1, record 7, French, - stratigraphie%20fant%C3%B4me
