Bluebag is a severe form of mastitis and is caused by bacteria which enter through the teat canal and cause an infection in the udder. It often becomes so severe as to interfere with the blood supply to the udder. This reduced blood supply causes a blue discoloration and if there is a complete loss of blood supply, gangrene, with sloughing of that half of the udder. 1, record 3, English, - bluebag

1, record 3, French, - mammite%20gangreneuse

A designation of a [wool] grade classification immediately below the fine grade. 1, record 4, English, - half%2Dblood%20wool
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Originally wool was graded by the blood system, with a Merino(a breed of sheep producing the finest of wools) considered to be "fine". Theoretically then, a half-blood wool would be comparable to what one would obtain from an individual sheep that was one-half Merino. It's important to keep in mind that this does not mean that a half-blood fleece is necessarily half Merino; but rather the fleece is akin to the type a half-merino would produce. 2, record 4, English, - half%2Dblood%20wool
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Today, blood grades are trade names only and indicate wool of a general diameter range. The blood system, for most all useful purposes, it outdated and has not been recognized by USDA [United States Department of Agriculture] since 1955. 3, record 4, English, - half%2Dblood%20wool

1, record 4, French, - laine%20demi%2Dsang
