The Provincial Black Basketball Association(PBBA), is a non-profit organization that is committed to the promotion of the game of basketball within the Black communities of Nova Scotia and across Canada at large.... [They are the proud sponsor of the Black Invitational Basketball Tournament held yearly in the Halifax Regional Municipality of Nova Scotia. ] The annual Black Invitational Basketball Tournament draws participants(players and spectators) from around the world and has become a major event on the African Canadian social calendar. The tournament weekend is a homecoming for many old friends and families, and allows them to enjoy the greatest basketball in the country, while celebrating the richness and strength of [their] community and cultural heritage. In addition to organizing and promoting the Black Invitational Basketball Tournament, the PBBA is also involved in various charitable works.
