HALOTHANE [9 records]

Record 1 2012-07-03

English

Subject field(s)
  • Anesthesia and Recovery
CONT

Inhalation anesthetics are substances that are brought into the body via the lungs and are distributed with the blood into the different tissues. The main target of inhalation anesthetics(or so-called volatile anesthetics) is the brain.... A combination of inhalation anesthetics and intravenous drugs is called balanced anesthesia. Currently used inhalation anesthetics include enflurane, halothane, isoflurane, sevoflurane, desflurane, and nitrous oxide. Older volatile anesthetics include ether, chloroform, and methoxyflurane.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Anesthésie et réanimation
CONT

  • CBRNE Weapons
CONT

At least since the 1940s fluoroacetate is known as one of the most toxic substances anywhere... Compound 1080 is sodium fluoroacetate.... Fluoroacetate is also a metabolite of many other fluorinated pesticides and other organic fluoride compounds, such as those used in anesthetics(i. e. halothane, evoflurane, etc), or 5-fluorouracil, an agent given in cancer(chemotherapy) treatment, etc.... Its use has been investigated and employed even in chemical warfare agents. It is the toxic breakdown product of organophosphates.

CONT

Enflurane is a widely used volatile anesthetic of the halothane type.

CONT

Soon after its introduction into clinical practice, it was noted that tonic-clonic twitching of the muscles of the face and limbs may develop during the administration of high concentrations of enflurane, especially if there is associated hypocapnia.

DEF

Anesthésique halogène volatil, administré par inhalation.

CONT

Les agents volatils sont reconnus comme des bronchodilatateurs depuis longtemps, principalement l'halothane. Plus récemment, l'enflurane a démontré son efficacité à une concentration de 1 MAC.
