alcohol-related dementia; ARD; alcohol-induced dementia; alcoholic dementia: The designation "dementia" is sometimes considered pejorative. However, there is no generally accepted designation to replace "alcohol-related dementia," "alcohol-induced dementia" and "alcoholic dementia." One strategy to avoid using the word "dementia" is to replace it with "neurocognitive impairment" (for example "alcohol-induced neurocognitive impairment"). However, while the word "impairment" is acceptable in a medical context, it can sometimes be considered offensive. Depending on the context, another strategy could be using the more generic designation "alcohol-related brain damage" or "alcohol-induced major neurocognitive disorder." 6, record 3, English, - alcohol%2Drelated%20dementia

Birth of the B12 snowmobile. Through 1941, Joseph-Armand perfects a new snowmobile called the B12, which receives a patent on June 23, 1942. This new version of the snowmobile seats 12 passengers and features a longer, more aerodynamic profile than the B7 snowmobile. The launch of the B12 snowmobile meets with great success, and orders increase. He [Joseph-Armand Bombardier] started production of a large, enclosed, seven-passenger snowmobile in 1937, the B-7, and introduced another enclosed twelve-passenger model, the B-12, in 1942. ... The B-12 had a flathead in-line six cylinder engine from Chrysler industrial, and 2,817 units were produced until 1951. It was used in a lot of applications, such as ambulances, Canada Post vehicles, winter "school buses," forestry machines and even army vehicles in World War II. 5, record 7, English, - B12%20snowmobile

When high moisture grain such as corn is placed in a sealed silo, the grain undergoes fermentation, oxygen is depleted, and carbon dioxide is increased by the respiration of the grains, yeasts, and bacteria. Aerobic mold growth is halted but germination is impaired, making the seed only suitable for animal feed. 1, record 11, English, - high%20moisture%20grain

Town-Country Symbiosis in Calcutta. Historically, the city's eastward expansion halted west of a marginal zone of low lying marshlands, variously known as Dhapa, East Calcutta, or the area of the salt water lakes. Here a symbiotic, creative relationship exists between town and country. With the participation of the rural inhabitants, much of the solid trash, liquid sewage, and polluted air generated by the metropolis of over ten million inhabitants is recycled into organic nutrients, fresh water, and clean air. The system reduces urban waste, creates a daily supply of fresh fish and green vegetables for Calcutta's kitchens, and generates employment and revenue for East Calcutta's thirty-odd villages. 1, record 13, English, - town%2Dcountry%20symbiosis

Because the forces of degeneration are much stronger than those of regeneration, the global problem of desertification simply cannot be halted by measures like tree planting and sand dune fixation. It is far more cost effective to prevent desertification than it is to regenerate already damaged land. Increasingly, therefore, efforts have been refocused to tackle the systemic, root causes of the problem. 3, record 16, English, - sand%20dune%20fixation
