Essential tremor... is one of the most common movement disorders. The exact cause of essential tremor is unknown. For some people this tremor is mild and remains stable for many years. The tremor usually appears on both sides of the body, but is often noticed more in the dominant hand because it is an action tremor... About 50 percent of the cases of essential tremor are thought to be caused by a genetic risk factor(referred to as familial tremor). 2, record 2, English, - essential%20tremor

Defamation can be divided into the two broad categories of libel and slander. The former has basically been associated with the written word but also extends to pictures, statues, films and even conduct implying a defamatory meaning. It is actionable without proof of damage, as general damages are presumed. It may even be the subject of a criminal prosecution. Slander, on the other hand, is generally conveyed by the spoken word and is not actionable per se, so that, no matter how offensive the language used is, an action lies only if special damages are pleaded and proved subject to certain exceptions. 1, record 4, English, - conduct%20implying%20a%20defamatory%20meaning

Courts have used the word "consideration" with many different meanings. It is often used merely to express the legal conclusion that a promise is enforceable. Historically, its primary meaning may have been that the conditions were met under which an action of assumpsit(an early form of contract action) would lie. It was also used as the equivalent of the "quid pro quo" required in an action of debt. A seal, it has been said, imports a consideration, although the law was clear that no element of bargain was necessary to enforcement of a promise under seal. On the other hand, consideration has sometimes been used to refer to almost any reason asserted for enforcing a promise, even though the reason was insufficient(as in) promises in consideration of love and affection, illegal consideration, past consideration, and consideration furnished by reliance on a gratuitous promise where in fact there has been no consideration at all.(Yogis, 1983, p. 47). 2, record 5, English, - consideration

If the ship is in the possession of the minority, the majority may obtain possession by proceedings in the Court of Admiralty; giving security to the minority if they object to the proposed voyage. The cockpit clearview windows are plug-type windows that rest against a flange around the perimeter of the sill. Each window can be moved through a crank-and-chain mechanism located on the bulkhead below the windowsill. To open the window, the locking mechanism is first released by the pilot. This preliminary action releases the latches on the aft edge of the window, but does not move the window. The initial turning of the hand crank pulls the aft edge of the window inboard enough to clear the sill, allowing the window to slide aft when the crank is further turned. The window can be unlocked when the aircraft is pressurized, but the outward force on the window is so great that turning the hand crank cannot open the window. 3, record 13, English, - sliding%20window

2, record 13, French, - fen%C3%AAtre%20coulissante

Social scoping refers to a very early activity in an impact assessment in which an attempt is made to identify the attributes or components of the environment for which there is public or professional concern, or both, and to which the assessment should primarily be addressed. On the other hand, ecological scoping is defined as an exploration of the possibilities for studying and predicting the effects of a planned action on the attributes or components so defined. Thus, social scoping establishes the terms in which impacts should be expressed, and ecological scoping established the terms under which the impacts can be studied and predicted. 1, record 19, English, - ecological%20scoping

1, record 19, French, - d%C3%A9termination%20de%20la%20port%C3%A9e%20%C3%A9cologique

Bellanet is an international initiative with a mission to increase the impact of development activities through greater collaboration. Collaboration is enhanced by more effective use of information and communication technologies(ICTs). At the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro the world was faced with the fact that, in spite of massive and accelerating problems of poverty and environmental degradation in developing countries, levels of spending on development assistance were stagnant or declining among many donor nations, and were likely to remain so for a long time. During follow-up meetings, a number of strategies were discussed. One such meeting took place in Bellagio, Italy(from which the name "Bellanet" was coined), where senior representatives of twenty development agencies concluded that one response to the challenges at hand was to increase the impact and relevance of donor actions through greater collaboration. A subgroup(the World Bank, the MacArthur Foundation, SAREC [Swedish Agency for Research Co-operation with Developing Countries], and IDRC [The International Development Research Centre] was asked to investigate options. A proposal for action was formulated and, at a second Bellagio meeting in late 1994, the formation of Bellanet was endorsed. Bellanet was given a mandate to promote collaboration through the use of emerging information and communication technologies(ICTs). In early 1995 Bellanet officially started with the first meeting of the Bellanet International Steering Committee(BISC) and the formation of the Bellanet International Secretariat established at the International Development Research Centre(IDRC), a federal organization established in Ottawa, Ontario. 1, record 38, English, - Bellanet%20Initiative

When the hand lever is squeezed the cable retracts within its sheath, pulling the right caliper toward the rim and exerting an equal and opposite force on the cable sheath which, pressing downward, forces the left caliper toward the wheel rim, in such a way as to press rubber blocks against the rim simultaneously, stopping the bicycle through pressure and friction. 4, record 41, English, - sidepull%20brake

The experience of grasping a part. It includes everything from the cognitive understanding of the situation, to the mechanical interaction with the part. In our definition, prehension includes all the processes between the initial desire and the final finished function. For example, the desire begins with a wish to drink coffee. Then, based on experience a grip is chosen, the hand moves to the cup, manipulation occurs, drinking is performed, and the cup is set down again. Thus prehension is more then just the gripping action itself; it involves the complete thought processes from the beginning to the end of the task. 1, record 44, English, - prehension

Thus, social scoping establishes the terms in which impacts should be expressed, and ecological scoping establishes the terms under which the impacts can be studied and predicted. 1, record 45, English, - social%20scoping

1, record 45, French, - d%C3%A9termination%20de%20la%20port%C3%A9e%20sociale
