Augmented reality(AR) is the addition of digital imagery and other information to the real world by a computer system. AR enhances a user's view or perception of the world by adding computer generated information to their view. Spatial augmented reality is a branch of AR research that uses projectors to augment physical objects with computer generated information and graphics. Traditionally, projectors have been used to project information onto purpose built projection screens, or walls. SAR on the other hand, locates(or projects) information directly onto objects of interest, including moving objects. SAR systems use sensors to develop a three dimensional(3D) model of the world, and typically include tracking systems that enable them to dynamically track movement of real world objects. Such movements or changes are integrated into the 3D model so that updates can be made to projections as objects are moved around. 1, record 4, English, - spatial%20augmented%20reality

2, record 4, French, - r%C3%A9alit%C3%A9%20augment%C3%A9e%20spatiale

Robotic grasping and manipulation in unknown environments is made difficult by several factors. ... To make robots cheaper, lighter, and safer, precision in the accuracy of end-effector position is often sacrificed. This introduces uncertainty in the position of the gripper relative to the object. Robotic grasping theory must account for such uncertainty in order to provide robust and reliable grasping in unstructured environments. One method for dealing with such uncertainty is robotic caging. Unlike an immobilizing grasp, in which the robotic hand grasps an object so as to prevent all motion of the object relative to the hand, a caging grasp only prevents the object from escaping through the fingers, while allowing some motion of the object relative to the hand. 1, record 5, English, - robotic%20caging

Space telerobotics is an inherently complex task, requiring mental visualization skills, fine motor visualization skills, fine motor control, and adhering to procedure and flight rules. Often space telerobotics is accomplished only using video views of the work area, so the robotic arm operator must interpret two dimensional images to create a 3D [three-dimensional] mental model of the environment and their position inside it, all the while being aware of arm kinematics and limitations, avoiding collisions, and following procedural flight rules. To add to the workload, they also control the arm in six degrees of freedom, using separate rotational and translational hand controls, where the movement axes are frequently not aligned with camera views(e. g., the operator views the scene backwards or upside down). 1, record 6, English, - space%20telerobotics

Sign languages are visual/spatial languages, that is, they are designed to be seen, and their grammar is structured in space. Though they are not perfectly equivalent, the signs in a sign language can be regarded as the counterparts of words in an oral language. Each sign consists of a complex movement of the hands and can be described by several parameters : the shape of the hand, the point of articulation, the orientation of the palm, movement, the arrangement of the hands in relation to each other, and rhythm. In linguistic descriptions of sign languages, this movement of the hands is called "manual behaviour. " 1, record 10, English, - manual%20behaviour

The second variant posits a reduced role for government, and the preservation of an integrated Canadian market as a result of "negative integration". This means that the provinces or states would commit themselves to the free movement of goods, services, labour, and capital among themselves and to achieve this, their powers would be limited by mutual agreement. 6, record 17, French, - combinaison%20isothermique

"Restraint" and "constraint" are quasi-synonyms. Because of usage they cannot be used interchangeably. "Restraint", in particular, is a polysemous term. It can denote a device that restricts movement; it can denote the control over one's expression or emotions or it can denote the series of actions taken to immobilize someone or something. "Constraint", on the other hand, is simply the state of being restricted, or compelled to avoid or perform some action or it can be the repression(and not simply control) of one's own feelings, behavior, or actions. 4, record 26, English, - restraint

Important nuance : a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. If one were to envision a stroke, one would see a series of sequences, ending with a "shot", i. e. the result of all of the above. A "shot" is the result of the "stroke". "Shot" implies a quick, sharp movement because one is focusing on the end result, not the series of sequences leading up to it. One speaks of "classical strokes" rather than "classical shot". A "blow" on the other hand is rather a blunt, general term similar in meaning to "shot". Although many would like to maintain these nuances in English, "shot" and "stroke" can often be used synonymously. "Blow" is used only rarely. Note, however that although there are two possible equivalents("coup" and "frappe") in French, neither are semantically identical to the English offerings. 5, record 27, English, - stroke

The physical development produced by scribbling may seem obvious. The normal arm action during distance running involves shoulder extension to pull the elbow straight back; then as the arm comes forward, the hand will move slightly across the body.... A specific type of tenosynovitis which involves the tendons of two specific muscles on the thumb side of the hand-the abductor pollicis longus(APL) and the extensor pollicis brevis(EPB). These muscles are located in the forearm and their tendons travel across the wrist(through a "tunnel" termed the first dorsal compartment) on the thumb side to produce movement of the thumb. The walls of the affected tendon sheaths(basically protective coverings for the tendons) become thickened and inflamed. 3, record 39, English, - de%20Quervain%26rsquo%3Bs%20tenosynovitis
Record number: 39, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The precise cause of de Quervain’s tenosynovitis is unknown. It is thought that excessive friction from overuse of the thumb and wrist (excessive and repetitive gripping and grasping actions) may be a factor, leading to thickening of the tissues in the compartment housing the APL and EPB tendons. For example, cases have been described in bricklayers, those who sew, piano players, fly fishermen, and golfers. It has also been hypothesized that the condition in some cases may be associated with acute injury to the involved area (direct blow to the forearm or wrist, falling on the thumb). 3, record 39, English, - de%20Quervain%26rsquo%3Bs%20tenosynovitis

blackberry thumb: Experts caution that practical experience and emerging anecdotal evidence suggest overuse of personal digital assistants (PDAs) ... can conceivably lead to injury of the tendons and accompanying tissue of the thumb. "Blackberry thumb" is the latest colloquial interpretation of a very real medical condition called de Quervain’s tendonitis, and its variant de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. The names refer to inflammation of two tendons that control the opposable digit, or their protective tissue. 2, record 39, English, - de%20Quervain%26rsquo%3Bs%20tenosynovitis

Once the idea of rotary movement for grinding evolved, it was not long before the Romans invented the rotary mill, which quickly replaced the lever mill. Rotary mills, both animal driven and hand powered, came into use about 2, 300 years ago and represented a major advance in the development of milling machinery. The hand powered rotary mills, known as querns, superseded saddlestones in the home and were widely used until the end of the nineteenth century. To this day, the quern is a popular piece of household equipment in many developing nations where home milling is still practised. 1, record 51, English, - rotary%20mill
