A flat plate with multiple wells used as small test tubes. 8, record 3, English, - microplate
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Assays of biochemical systems are carried out on a large scale in both industry and academia, so it is desirable to have an apparatus that allows these assays to be performed in a convenient and inexpensive fashion. Because they are relatively easy to handle and low in cost, microplates are often used for such studies. Microplates typically consist of a plurality of individual wells formed of polymeric materials. Each well includes sidewalls and a bottom so that an aliquot of a sample may be placed within each well. The wells may be arranged in relatively close proximity in a matrix pattern, allowing samples to be studied individually or as a group. Common sizes for microplates include matrices having dimensions of 4x6(24 wells) or 8x12(96 wells), although larger microplates are also used that may include matrices of hundreds or even thousands of wells. 9, record 3, English, - microplate

Ice screws... Push the ice screw into the ice while twisting the hanger by hand in a clockwise direction to get it started. Placing the ice screw at waist level allows you to push harder and turn the screw with less effort. Continue to turn the ice screw handle by hand until the hanger nearly contacts the ice surface. Chip away any fractured ice using your ice axe, then turn the ice screw handle the remainder of the way. Align the hanger so that it hangs downward—in the direction of pull.... When possible, choose an ice screw length that will not bottom out on rock underneath the ice. Turning your ice screw into rock will damage the teeth and can fracture the ice. 3, record 4, English, - ice%20screw

A tennis racquet is normally held at the end of the shaft called the "grip". The "shaft" is a long structural part of a tennis racket, stretching from the throat area all the way to the butt of the racquet. Only a part of the "shaft" is made for contact with the hand. This part is called the "handle". Nonetheless some authors have confused the issue by making "shaft" and "handle" synonyms by saying that new dampening materials have been incorporated in the "handle", when they really mean "shaft": "... features Head’s Ultrazorb in the handle to dampen vibration and a new contoured grip for more secure feel". 5, record 9, English, - racket%20handle

A jug with a globular body and a cylindrical neck pierced with openwork in such a way that ordinary pouring or drinking is impossible. It has from three to seven spouts in the rim which surmounts the neck, one of them being connected with a concealed tube or siphon which runs through the rim and handle to the bottom of the jug. There are also holes which need to be closed by the fingers before the contents can be sucked up. Some are inscribed with challenging legends. Earthenware, stoneware, and slipware examples exist; they were common from the 17th to the 19th century in Europe, and especially in England where many were made of English delftware. 1, record 23, English, - puzzle%2Djug
