The Youth Apprenticeship Program for Landscape Horticulture(Ontario Region) is a one-year project providing academic and life skills training to 50 youth of whom 20% will be persons with disabilities. This program will combine practical, hands-on training at a landscape training centre, on-the-job experience with a horticultural firm, and certification of successful participants in keeping with the accreditation process currently being developed by the industry. Response was limited to question 6b which asked about resources, tools, and techniques which were helpful with the target groups. In general, visual or "hands-on" resources were found to work well with the various target populations. One quarter of the sample identified audio-visual and posters-charts to be most helpful.
