The Act of Settlement is a piece of English legislation governing the succession to the English Crown. It was passed in 1701 to amend the English Bill of Rights, following the death of the last child of the then Princess Anne. It provides that(in default of any further heirs of William III of England or Princess Anne) only Protestant descendants of Sophia, dowager Electress and dowager Duchess of Hanover who have not married a Roman Catholic can succeed to the English Crown. In addition, it specifies that it is for Parliament to determine who should succeed to the throne, not the monarch.

Cheval Hanovrien [...] le cheval de race Hanovrienne est l'un des meilleurs chevaux de selle allemands. Il a été créé en 1735 par George 1er, roi d'Angleterre et Électeur de Hanovre. Ce dernier favorise le croisement de Pur-Sang Anglais afin d'affiner la race. Jusqu'alors réservé aux travaux des champs, il se destine à servir la cavalerie et à être carrossier. Par la suite la race subit d'autre apports de sang Arabe et de sang Trakehner. Ce cheval a contribué à l'amélioration de la race Oldenbourg. Aujourd'hui, le Hanovrien demeure un excellent cheval de compétition se distinguant à la fois en saut d'obstacles, en concours complet et en dressage.

Determination of the effective opening size, dw, FIH. The effective opening size of a geotextile, dw, is determined by wet sieving quartz sand of known composition using modified sieving equipment. The geotextile functions as a sieve .... The test sample, (diameter 18 cm), is clamped into a sieve frame. The sand, which has a dry weight of 100 g for wovens and a dry weight of 300 g for non-wovens, is then sprinkled onto the sample. The sand is then sprayed continuously with water and sieved for 15 minutes in a modified sieve machine with a vertical amplitude of 3 mm at a frequency of 50 Hz. The sand which passes through the geotextile sample is caught on a paper filter and then analyzed with [different sieves] .... The effective opening size, dw, is found from the coarsest sand fraction which has passed through the test sample and in which there is still a defined quantity in relation to the original fraction.

The third technique for determining the pore size distribution is based upon wet sieving. Again, there are several variations on the basic concept.... The FIH(Franzius Institut Hanover] method determines a parameter known as the "Wet Sieving Effective opening Size"(Dw), which is sometimes considered approximately equivalent to the 90% opening size.... However, as test results obtained by Heerten demonstrate this relationship is neither accurate nor consistent.

Air data sensor. At the Hanover air show, Badin-Crouzet announced the production of a new pitot static sensor, known as the 50500. This takes the form of a mobile delta-shaped vane which combines the functions of a pitot tube, a static pressure port and an angle-of-attack sensor. Pressure ports on the vane provide Pitot and static pressures, both of which are automatically compensated for in angle of attack. Differential pressure ports permit correction of the residual alignment error of the vane. Pressure sensors associated with a microprocessor inside the probe itself are used to compute this error in order to obtain accurate angle-of-attack information, which is supplied in either digital or analog form.
