Inuvialuktun. There are approximately 499 speakers of the Inuvialuktun language in the NWT [Northwest Territories]. These speakers are found, primarily, in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, predominantly in the communities of Sachs Harbour, Tuktoyaktuk, Inuvik and Paulatuk. Inuvialuktun is actually a grouping of three quite distinct and separate dialects. These dialects are considered seriously endangered, as English has become the dominant language in these regions.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority(PRPA) is a port authority operating under the Canada Marine Act as an autonomous and commercially viable agency. PRPA has responsibility for all federally owned waterfront properties on Prince Rupert Harbour, located in and around the city of Prince Rupert on the North Coast of British Columbia. The PRPA was created on May 1, 1999, and succeeds the Prince Rupert Port Corporation(PRPC). It does everything in its power to make the Port of Montreal as competitive as possible, and from this perspective provides first-rate facilities to sea and land carriers, to terminal operators and to shippers.

On March 1, 1999, pursuant to the new Canada Marine Act, the name and status of the Montreal Port Corporation were changed to the Montreal Port Authority(MPA). The transition from the Montreal Port Corporation is facilitated by the fact that the enterprise has already been operating in a commercial, efficient and profitable manner since at least its founding as a local port corporation in 1983 in accordance with the Canada Port Authorities Act, which had replaced the National Harbours Board Act of 1936, the Government Harbours and Piers Act and the Harbour Commissions Act of 1964.
