The Government of Canada will invest... in harbour improvements at several Nova Scotia fishing harbours.... At Arisaig, the project will involve the placement of armourstone around the existing deteriorated 86-metre breakwater. This will stabilize the structure and prevent further deterioration. The breakwater acts as a barrier to the movement of sand that would otherwise accumulate in the harbour. 1, record 3, English, - armourstone

Completed in 1972, this 2,500 linear foot armored stone breakwater has a crest elevation of 15.5 (MLW). Because of the orientation of the breakwater, only limited protection is provided for predominant winds from the southwest. 3, record 3, English, - armourstone

Stone Mastic Asphalt(SMA) has become a popular asphalt for the surfacing of heavily trafficked roads, airfields and harbour areas in Europe and its use is spreading across the world. The even surface that can be obtained using SMA provides comfortable riding characteristics whilst its texture gives good skid resistance with relatively low traffic noise. The strong aggregate structure provided by the coarse aggregate particles gives excellent resistance to permanent deformation and the rich mastic, which fills the voids between those particles, makes SMA highly durable. 1, record 4, English, - aggregate%20structure

4, record 4, French, - squelette%20min%C3%A9ral
