Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A serve in which the racquet scrapes across the ball from left to right (for a right-handed [player]) and creates sidespin. 5, record 2, English, - slice%20service
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Slice serve. Side spin and topsin are applied to the serve, causing the ball to keep low and change direction after bouncing. For example, slice serves from right-handed players cut sharply away to the left. The serve is particularly well-suited to grass or indoor courts, because these surfaces slow the ball down less than hard courts. 6, record 2, English, - slice%20service
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The sliced serve imparts side spin on the ball, with a touch of top spin, and produces lateral movement in the air and at the bounce ... an effective slice serve will begin on a line straight at the receiver but veer away to his right. 3, record 2, English, - slice%20service
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 3 CONT
It is hard to return the slice service, because the ball spins and bounces sidewards in the opponent’s court. 7, record 2, English, - slice%20service

Among the alkaloids produced by grass endophytes, the best known are ergot alkaloids because they are also produced by related fungi known for major poisoning events throughout history. The ergot alkaloids are so named because they are made by ergot fungi; that is, Claviceps species. "Ergots" are hard, dense resting structures of these fungi that typically replace the reproductive structures of Claviceps-infected grass florets. Ergots mimic the size, shape, and density of the seeds, so with traditional winnowing they tend to be retained in the grain rather than being removed with the chaff. 2, record 3, English, - ergot%20alkaloid
