Ice climbing is broadly divided into two spheres, alpine ice and water ice. Alpine ice is found in a mountain environment, usually requires an approach to reach, and is often climbed in an attempt to summit a mountain. Water ice is usually found on a cliff or other outcropping beneath water flows. Alpine ice is frozen precipitation whereas water ice is a frozen liquid flow of water. Both types of ice vary greatly in consistency according to weather conditions. Ice can be soft, hard, brittle or tough. 2, record 3, English, - alpine%20ice%20climbing

In the coldest conditions much of that water is bound up in ice, creating the hard, slick surface of what is known as dry snow. Conversely, milder weather makes for slushy, wet snow. For hundreds of years, the French horses bred with little influence from outside breeds. They eventually developed into their own distinct breed-the Canadian Horse or Cheval Canadien. Because they evolved under the adverse conditions of harsh weather, scarce food, and hard work, the Canadian Horse remains the sturdiest and most acclimatized horse in Canada today. They are tough, strong horses, tolerant of inclement weather conditions, and are extremely “easy keepers”. Because of these traits, the Canadian Horse is often referred to as “The Little Iron Horse”. 3, record 5, English, - Canadian%20horse

1, record 5, French, - cheval%20canadien
