Amphidromy is a distinctive form of diadromy that involves some fish, decapod crustaceans and gastropod molluscs. Characteristic elements in amphidromy are : reproduction in fresh water, passage to sea by newly hatched larvae, a period of feeding and growing at sea usually a few months long, return to fresh water of well‐grown juveniles, a further period of feeding and growing in fresh water, followed by reproduction there. 2, record 5, English, - amphidromy

The Indian-meal moth has a wing-spread of about 2 centimetres. The forewings are creamy white next to the body, and have a reddish-brown colour with a coppery lustre on the outer two-thirds. The female moth lays about 200 eggs, either singly or in groups, on food material. The larvae are dirty white in colour, often with a greenish or pinkish tint. The newly hatched larvae are almost never seen because of their small size and the fact that they burrow as far as two metres into the grain mass. They normally remain in the grain until they have completed their larval growth. When fully grown they are about 1. 2 centimetres long. In summer their life cycle is about six weeks. 1, record 6, English, - indian%2Dmeal%20moth
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The Indian-meal moth is cosmopolitan in distribution, feeding on stored grain as well as nuts, dried fruits and packaged cereals. The principal damage caused to wheat is to the germ: a single larva may destroy the germ of approximately 50 kernels in completing its development. Degermed kernels reduce the grade and produce flour inferior in baking quality. 1, record 6, English, - indian%2Dmeal%20moth

2, record 6, French, - pyrale%20indienne%20de%20la%20farine
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 6, French, - pyrale%20indienne%20de%20la%20farine

The cabbage flea beetle, Phyllotreta albionica [LeConte, 1857], is a small, shining, metallic-green or bronze beetle, measuring slightly over 2.5 mm in length (Dustan, 1932). There are 11 antennal segments. The 5th antennal segment is longer than the 4th or 6th in the female beetle and longer and broader than the 4th or 6th in the male beetle Burgess, 1977). There are no stripes on the elytra. 3, record 13, English, - cabbage%20flea%20beetle

Cabbage Flea Beetle. Phyllotreta albionica(Lec.). This beetle, which is found in most parts of Canada, attacks cabbage and many other plants of the Cruciferae family.... The cabbage flea beetle overwinters in the adult stage, usually in the soil in the fields, or in leaf litter or turf under hedges, trees and fence rows. There is one generation annually, with mating and egg laying occurring in the spring and the adults usually dying in late June or early July. The newly hatched larvae live in the soil and feed on the roots of host plants, where they also pupate. 4, record 13, English, - cabbage%20flea%20beetle

Natural hatching under a hen is an ideal way for a small backyard fancier. The one disadvantage is that it may not always be possible to get hold of a broody hen just when she is wanted. Natural incubation also places a limitation on the number of eggs that can be hatched at any one time. The species can be identified by the use of literature and insect reference collections. Having determined the species, age, and the developmental period of the larvae, the scientist turns the clock back to the time when the mother fly of that particular species would have been attracted to the corpse to lay the eggs that hatched into the collected larvae.
