Swedish Ardennes have an immensely muscular compact body, short legs, and little feathering. They are black, brown bay, and chestnut. They can withstand extreme variations in climate, are very strong, are exceptionally eager workers, and can survive on frugal keep. Swedish Ardennes are also known for their longevity, sweet and lively temper, and overall good health.

The Canada Grain Act was again amended in 1929 allowing the Board of Grain Commissioners to move its office from Thunder Bay to Winnipeg where it would be closer to producers, the grain producing area, and the head offices of grain companies. The amendments also prohibited mixing within the first four grades of wheat. The government also established a new Board of Grain Commissioners, the first task of which was to review the act.

A beautiful, delicate head characterizes the Arabian, often with a "dished" or concave profile below large, prominent eyes; a high-set, arched neck; and a naturally high tail carriage. White markings on the face and legs are common. The coat is fine and silky and the skin is invariably black. The mane and tail are full.

Its hot-blooded nature and stunning good looks have been admired for hundreds of years.
