Une tête magnétique est constituée par un bobinage enroulé sur un noyau en tôles magnétiques qui ne conservent pas d'aimantation rémanente. Néanmoins, au bout d'un grand nombre d'heures d'utilisation, il est possible que la tête devienne légèrement aimantée. Il faut dans ce cas la désaimanter à l'aide d'un appareil spécial appelé «démagnétiseur» ...
