Leather or nylon headgear, with attachments for side reins and lunge line, worn by the horse when it is being lunged. 3, record 10, English, - caveson%20bridle
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 1 CONT
A cavesson resembles a heavy, well fitting halter and is the preferred headpiece for longeing (lungeing) English horses. "Breaking" cavessons are generally made of stout leather with heavy metal nosepieces and have straps to fasten them securely and keep them in position because during "breaking" it is often necessary to tug or pull quite hard on the line to control the horse. Lighter, simpler cavessons are also available for the very young horse, the already-trained horse, for use with a bit or bridle, and for use as a dropped noseband. 4, record 10, English, - caveson%20bridle
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The traditional cavesson is made from leather but nylon cavessons are also available. A longeing(lungeing) cavesson has a padded noseband with a jointed metal nosepiece that usually has 3 swivel-mounted rings attached to it. Generally the middle ring is used for longeing(lungeing) unless a horse carries his head to the outside of the circle extremely. In that case, the inside cavesson ring can be used to bend the horse inward on the longeing(lungeing) circle. The side rings are also used for side rein attachment or long line attachment. 4, record 10, English, - caveson%20bridle

A diffuse white ring surrounding the shadow cast by an observer's head upon dew-covered ground when the solar elevation is low and the distance from observer to shadow is large. 1, record 11, English, - Heiligenschein
Record number: 11, Textual support number: 1 CONT
It is most apparent when the sun is low in the sky and when the surface is dew-covered. The explanation of the heiligenschein varies depending upon whether it is seen over a dry or a dew-covered surface. When an observer’s shadow is cast on a dry, irregular surface (such as gravel or vegetation), each irregularity near the antisolar point covers its own shadow. In other directions, the average brightness results from a mixture of sunlit and shaded surfaces. The lower the sun in the sky, the longer the shadows and so the greater the contrast with the brighter region near the antisolar point. 4, record 11, English, - Heiligenschein
Record number: 11, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The heiligenschein is occasionally called Cellini’s halo, after Benvenuto Cellini who described its behavior in his memoirs of 1562. He even pointed out that it appears to the greatest advantage when the grass is moist with dew, but felt its appearance bespoke the wondrous ways of Gods providence toward me. Shades of this interpretation are also found in the name heiligenschein: It is German for the light of the holy one. 4, record 11, English, - Heiligenschein

The extrusion head used in blow molding is one of three basic styles : the spider or axial flow head, the side feed or radial flow head, and the accumulator head.... The side feed or radial flow head is a design most often used for polyethylene. Melt enters the head from the side, divides around the mandrel, and rewelds. As the melt moves downward, it enters the pressure ring area, creating a tremendous back pressure that helps ensure the resin reweld. The head is used for its simplicity and ruggedness, but has the disadvantage of relatively long color changes. 2, record 19, English, - side%20feed%20head
