Sit the box on the floor or table, open side down, and tap or scratch lightly on the outside of the box using only your hands. Next, place the box over your head and repeat the procedure. Comment on the loudness of the sounds you hear. Relate this to conditions inside the International Space Station. Student Challenge : Acquire a simple, inexpensive household fan.
