The tendency of a rotating body, when a force is applied perpendicular to its plane of rotation, to turn in the direction of its rotation 90 degrees to its axis and take up a new plane of rotation parallel to the applied force. 7, record 1, English, - precessional%20motion
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Gyroscopic precession... When force is applied to a gyro, the device reacts as if the force had been applied at a point 90 degrees from the point of actual application, in the direction of rotation. Precession affects propellers, which act like gyros, and gyro instruments. Its principle effect is on the heading indicator, which tends to drift over time. 8, record 1, English, - precessional%20motion
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
A gyroscope will not only resist being moved out of its vertical position, it will also generate force as it attempts to travel in large, circular patterns. These patterns are most easily seen with a spinning top. As the top begins losing its energy, it never simply spirals straight down in the same direction that it was originally spinning. As it destabilizes, it will always begin slowly rotating or precessing in a slow, even circle that is in the opposite direction to its normal spinning motion. These circular patterns are known as "precessional" motions, and they are another aspect of a gyroscope’s movement that will occur either in air or in a vacuum and can be used to overcome gravity. 9, record 1, English, - precessional%20motion
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 3 CONT
If an airplane changes suddenly from a nose up to a nose down position, as is the case during the take-off roll in a tail wheel airplane, the airplane will yaw sharply to the left as the pilot shoves the wheel forward to raise the tail. The application of right rudder compensates for the precession tendency. 7, record 1, English, - precessional%20motion

En la segunda etapa las anteras salen al exterior, la espiguilla se vuelve a cerrar y los granos de cebada quedan vestidos. DI - direction indicator. A gyro instrument which indicates the magnetic heading of an aircraft. Aligning the Heading Indicator. On small aircraft like the Cessna 182RG, the pilot sets the heading indicator to coincide with the compass before takeoff and resets it periodically during flight to make sure that it remains in sync with the compass. "Set" and "reset" express the same reality except for the time aspect and are not real synonyms. However, because of the necessity to periodically and continuously "reset" the gyros, one could say that the pilot "resets" the instruments in flight as well as he "sets" or "resets" them before take-off, referring to the last in-flight setting operation. "Reset" would be more appropriate for in-flight setting operation. 4, record 17, English, - reset

It was bound to happen : gambling is heading for the information highway. In October Gaming Entertainment Television(GET), a cable-TV station based in Pittsburgh, is to start broadcasting horse-racing, poker and $1m-jackpot bingo, all of which will allow interactive gambling. At the same time, Sony's Game Show Channel, based in Los Angeles, is promising interactive versions of "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price is Right". There is a market : 6m Americans play(by mailing in cards) the ordinary TV version of "The Price is Right".... interactivity is simply a wheeze to push up its ratings. In its first phase it will allow viewers to play for free(ie, without betting real money) and will offer small prizes to those who win. Eventually, however, it may permit real betting too. 1, record 22, English, - interactive%20gambling
