Regenerative medicine is an evolving field that focuses on harnessing the body's intrinsic ability to repair and restore damaged tissues. Autologous platelet concentrates, including platelet-rich plasma(PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin(PRF), have emerged as promising biological tools in tissue regeneration and repair. Autologous platelet concentrates are derived from the patient's own blood, containing a concentrated mix of growth factors, cytokines, and bioactive proteins that play a crucial role in cellular proliferation, differentiation, and matrix remodeling.... Autologous platelet concentrates offer a viable alternative to synthetic and allogeneic grafts, promoting natural healing while minimizing immunogenic responses. 3, record 1, English, - autologous%20platelet%20concentrate

Intraocular gas tamponade has become an integral part of macular hole surgery. It is thought to improve success rates of hole closure by providing a tamponade which either forces the healing hole against the retinal pigment epithelium or isolating the hole from liquefied vitreous humor. Various measures have been employed to lengthen the duration of contact between the healing macula and the tamponade agent, including(1) face-down posturing,(2) the use of longer-acting gases and(3) lens extraction to increase the volume of gas used. 1, record 3, English, - intraocular%20gas%20tamponade

Fibrin glues(also known as fibrin sealants) are widely used in surgery mainly as adjuncts to achieve hemostasis but also as surgical sealants, surgical glues, and as promoters of wound healing. They are based on two blood plasma-derived proteins, fibrinogen and thrombin. During surgical application of fibrin glue, a solution containing the fibrinogen component is mixed with a solution containing the thrombin component. At the site of application, thrombin catalyzes the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin finally resulting in the formation of a tissue adhering hydrogel, the fibrin clot. 4, record 4, English, - fibrin%20glue

Plasticosis is a type of fibrotic disease. These conditions are caused by excessive amounts of scarring when an area of the body is repeatedly inflamed and prevents the wound from healing normally. Generally, temporary scar tissue forms after an injury and helps to strengthen the repair. But when inflammation happens again and again, excessive amounts of scar tissue can form which reduces the flexibility of the tissues and causes their structure to change. In the case of plasticosis, the irritation is caused by shards of plastic digging into the stomach tissue. 2, record 22, English, - plasticosis

The Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy(AHWS) supports a comprehensive approach to reducing family violence in First Nations and Aboriginal communities and improving the health of Aboriginal people who live on or off reserves. The Strategy enables Aboriginal communities to address family violence and health service needs, through the integration of traditional Aboriginal teachings and mainstream health services and interventions. The AHWS is an inter-ministerial initiative, jointly managed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat, Ontario Women's Directorate, and 15 Aboriginal organizations and First Nations. The Ministry of Community and Social Services is the administrative host and implementation lead on behalf of the partner ministries. 2, record 72, English, - Aboriginal%20Healing%20and%20Wellness%20Strategy
