Fibrin glues(also known as fibrin sealants) are widely used in surgery mainly as adjuncts to achieve hemostasis but also as surgical sealants, surgical glues, and as promoters of wound healing. They are based on two blood plasma-derived proteins, fibrinogen and thrombin. During surgical application of fibrin glue, a solution containing the fibrinogen component is mixed with a solution containing the thrombin component. At the site of application, thrombin catalyzes the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin finally resulting in the formation of a tissue adhering hydrogel, the fibrin clot. 4, record 1, English, - fibrin%20glue

Plasticosis is a type of fibrotic disease. These conditions are caused by excessive amounts of scarring when an area of the body is repeatedly inflamed and prevents the wound from healing normally. Generally, temporary scar tissue forms after an injury and helps to strengthen the repair. But when inflammation happens again and again, excessive amounts of scar tissue can form which reduces the flexibility of the tissues and causes their structure to change. In the case of plasticosis, the irritation is caused by shards of plastic digging into the stomach tissue. 2, record 2, English, - plasticosis

4, record 10, French, - oxyg%C3%A9noth%C3%A9rapie%20hyperbare

Human acidic fibroblast growth factor(FGF) is perhaps the broadest specificity mitogen known. It stimulates a variety of cell types to divide. It also is chemotactic for many cell types(i. e. responsive cells migrate towards the source of the growth factor). Particularly responsive are vascular endothelial cells, thus FGF is also a potent angiogenic factor(causes the growth of blood vessels.). FGF plays a role in all stages of life. In embryogenesis, for example, FGF is important in organogenesis(the development of organs). In an adult, FGF is important in the wound healing process. Furthermore, aberrant regulation of FGF or its receptor(s) appears to be responsible for certain tumors within the brain and breast. 2, record 15, English, - acidic%20fibroblast%20growth%20factor

3, record 15, French, - facteur%20de%20croissance%20fibroblastique%20acide

Fibroblast growth factors(FGFs) are essential molecules for mammalian development, wound healing, and when inappropriately expressed, cancer. Engineered mutations in the genes encoding several FGFs and FGF receptors(FGFRs) result in developmental defects and/or embryonic lethality. Additionally, point mutations in the genes encoding FGFRs 1, 2 and 3 result in human hereditary craniofacial and skeletal dysplasias. 3, record 16, English, - fibroblast%20growth%20factor

4, record 16, French, - facteur%20de%20croissance%20des%20fibroblastes
