UN/EDIFACT(United Nations Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport) provides the essential rules for data exchange, particularly when data need to be processed by more than one organization or exchanged at minimum cost. The NHSI(National Health Surveillance Infostructure) is the federal contribution to the Network for Health Surveillance in Canada, a federal, provincial, and territorial partnership. Established in 1997, it is a series of projects based on the secure exchange of, and access to, health surveillance information via the Internet. NHSI projects support the collection, integration, analysis, and dissemination of data to provide information for activities such as policy development, response to outbreaks, and notifications of faulty products. L'Infostructure nationale de surveillance de la santé (INSS) est la contribution fédérale au Réseau de surveillance de la santé au Canada, un partenariat entre les gouvernements fédéral, provinciaux et territoriaux. Établie en 1997, il s'agit d'une série de projets basés sur l'échange sécuritaire d'information sur la surveillance de la santé et l'accès à celle-ci par l'entremise d'Internet. Les projets de l'INSS soutiennent la collecte, l'intégration, l'analyse et la distribution de données en vue de fournir de l'information pour des activités telles que l'élaboration de politiques, de mesures d'interventions contre les épidémies et les avis de produits défectueux. The Integrated Enteric Pathogen Surveillance Section facilitates decisions made by policy makers, regulators, public health departments, industry and the scientific community relative to the health risks associated with zoonotic microorganisms. This section provides input to the National Surveillance Program for Foodborne, Waterborne, and Enteric Disease through reference laboratory activities for Salmonella(OIÉ Reference Laboratory for Salmonella serotyping of non-human isolates in North America) and E. coli(VTEC) serotyping and molecular typing(linked to PulseNet North).
