An increasing number of communities are beginning to address the deterioration of historic resources due to a deliberate lack of maintenance known as demolition by neglect. Severe deterioration can lead to findings by building officials that a property is a health or safety hazard, resulting in demolition as the result of local government processes that circumvent local preservation ordinances. 1, record 1, English, - demolition%20by%20neglect

1, record 7, French, - Programme%20de%20protection%20respiratoire

Why do you have to conduct a workplace violence hazard assessment? The simple answer : The law says you do. As noted in the previous chapter, jurisdictions in Canada have specific workplace violence requirements in their OHS [Occupational Health and Safety] statutes or regulations. The requirement to do a hazard assessment is an element in just about all of these statutes and regulations. 2, record 12, English, - hazard%20assessment

2, record 15, Spanish, - desastre

In Canada, a Special Threat Assessment Group(STAG) was formed in 1976 as an interdepartmental committee to assess, prevent, contain or otherwise assist in the response to terrorist threats and incidents involving the use of nuclear, biological, or chemical agents. Chaired by an official of Health Canada, it is comprised of medical professionals and scientists charged with assessing a threat's credibility, feasibility, magnitude and potential of likely consequences, as well as helping to identiy the medical and physical resources required to respond. In addition, there is a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical(NBC) Response Team belonging to the Canadian Forces, attached to the NBC School at CFB Borden, Ontario. It is capable of providing on-site advice and technical assistance in isolating, containing, and assessing the hazard; providing any necessary first aid and removal of casualties; collecting and packaging samples for later analysis; and supervising decontamination or clean-up operations. It has conducted a number of exercises and co-operative training with the RCMP and other authorities, and would be activated upon a request from the federal Solicitor General. 1, record 20, English, - Special%20Threat%20Assessment%20Group

The assessments of risk from hazards in food and water have much in common. A common approach to microbiological hazards in food and water may accelerate development of the science and may also improve the quantity and quality of data available to conduct risk assessments. Reproductive effects are problems in the reproductive process which may be caused by a substance. Possible reproductive effects include reduced fertility in the male or female, menstrual changes, miscarriage, embryotoxicity, fetotoxicity, teratogenicity, or harmful effects to the nursing infant from chemicals in breast milk. Most chemicals can cause reproductive effects if there is an extremely high exposure. In these cases, the exposed person would experience other noticeable signs and symptoms caused by the exposure. These signs and symptoms act as a warning of toxicity. Chemicals which cause reproductive effects in the absence of other significant harmful effects are regarded as true reproductive hazards. Very few workplace chemicals are known to be true reproductive hazards. 1, record 42, English, - reproductive%20effect

Substitution refers to the elimination of a hazardous material/process or the replacement of a material/process by another with a lower health hazard. Obviously, the elimination of a hazardous material or process is the ideal, but because this is not always possible or practicable, a through search for a less dangerous material or process should be undertaken.... For example :... Asbestos has been replaced by mineral wools such as glass fibre or rockwool and metal powders(in various applications). 1, record 46, English, - substitution

1, record 74, French, - %C3%A9valuation%20du%20danger%20selon%20la%20NAS
