Patient-reported outcome measures(PROMs) are used to assess a patient's health status at a particular point in time. PROMs are standardized, validated survey tools that assess health outcomes reported by patients, in areas such as general health and quality of life, or around specific symptoms, functional ability and physical, mental and social health. The theory of planned behaviour(TPB) started as the theory of reasoned action in 1980 to predict an individual' s intention to engage in a behaviour at a specific time and place. The theory was intended to explain all behaviours over which people have the ability to exert self-control. The key component to this model is behavioural intent; behavioural intentions are influenced by the attitude about the likelihood that the behaviour will have the expected outcome and the subjective evaluation of the risks and benefits of that outcome. The TPB has been used successfully to predict and explain a wide range of health behaviours and intentions including smoking, drinking, health services utilization, breastfeeding, and substance use, among others. 1, record 12, English, - theory%20of%20planned%20behaviour

The person-trade-off approach is the very essence of the saved-young-life equivalent(SAVE) procedure, which has been proposed as an alternative to the QALY procedure. Saving a young person from dying and restoring him or her to a healthy life is chosen as a reference outcome. This outcome is assigned the value 1. Other outcomes are described in terms of a) how severely ill the patients are before treatment and b) how much they are helped. People are asked to compare pairs of outcomes in terms of equivalence of numbers of people heated. This establishes the person trade-offs in terms of value in a direct way. Outcomes rather than health states are then assigned values on a 0-1 scale such as to encapsulate the observed trade-offs. 2, record 29, English, - saved%20young%20life%20equivalent
