Manufacturers are aware that certain drugs they produce are frequently requested and used in the Canadian health care system. Telemedicine consultations are primarily classified according to the type of interaction that takes place between the patient and the health practitioner. "Synchronous telemedicine"(also called real-time telemedicine) refers to real-time interaction between the sender and the receiver of the data. During such a teleconsultation, there are insignificant time delays between the sending, receiving and collection of data. The most widely used means of synchronous telemedicine is videoconferencing.

They are the key providers for FNIHB oral health initiatives. In addition to the services provided by dental therapists, Health Canada also pays for dental practitioner services for specified clinical services in First Nations and Inuit communities. There must be a clear definition of the community served by a particular practitioner, agency or IHS in order to plan and fund services based on a capitation model. The patient roster identifies the patients served and paid for in a particular practice. Rostering, which is often referred to as enrollment or registration, can be organized in a number of ways, including geography, affinity groups and disease groups. Enrollment is generally voluntary. When the patient rosters, he/she is guaranteed a certain package of services. In return, the patient is committed to receiving his or her services within the practice, agency or IHS to which he or she is rostered.
