In the National Capital Region(NCR), federal government employees have contributed to annual fundraising campaigns since 1945. From 1990 to 1996, United Way and HealthPartners both participated in the federal campaign to enable donors to support any Canadian registered charity, under the new name "Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign.
