The default set of societal expectations for intimate relationships.

OBS

Partners follow a progressive set of steps, each with visible markers, toward a clear goal. The goal at the top of the escalator is to achieve a permanently monogamous(sexually and romantically exclusive between two people), cohabiting marriage — legally sanctioned if possible. In many cases, buying a house and having kids is also part of the goal. Partners are expected to remain together at the top of the escalator until death. The escalator is the standard by which most people gauge whether a developing intimate relationship is significant, "serious, "good, healthy, committed or worth pursuing or continuing.

The Prairie Region Halfway House Association (PRHHA) was founded in 2003 in order to contribute towards a more effective justice system. The PRHHA membership is comprised of community-based residential service providers as well as various governmental agencies and stakeholders who work together to promote and facilitate community-based criminal justice services and resources. PRHHA is committed to improving the safety of all prairie communities by ensuring the successful reintegration and rehabilitation of offenders. Les maisons écologiques devront consommer, pour le chauffage, l'éclairage et les appareils électroménagers, quatre fois moins d'énergie qu'une maison répondant aux normes du Code du bâtiment de l'Ontario. Leur consommation d'eau devra également être réduite de moitié.

L'adjectif «écologique» est nettement le plus répandu. «Maison saine» (en anglais : «healthy house») est aussi attesté, et est employé par la SCHL (Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement), qui utilise aussi «maison écologique». Nous avons aussi trouvé «éco-logis», que nous rejetons, l'emploi du préfixe «éco-» étant abusif, et «maison environnementale» (en anglais : «envirohome»), que nous ne trouvons pas très heureux non plus. Les termes connexes suivants, qui sont en réalité des spécifiques, sont aussi employés : «maison éconergétique» (en anglais : «energy-sufficient»), terme correct; «maison durable» (pour l'anglais «sustainable»), terme douteux; «maison performante» (en anglais : «advanced house»), terme douteux.
